I have a 2001 Honda Accord LX (bought it brand new) and today (8/20/2008) it only has about ~37K miles on it. The low mileage is due to driving two cars. Last year when I took it in for servicing I was told my front pads had 15% left. All of a sudden this week I start to hear a grinding noise. I take it back in -- and they tell me that I need new pads. Ok great. They also say that my rotors are worn so thin that they need to replaced! They said it was unusual for rotors to be worn down so thin with so little mileage. I asked them if it had anything to do with no changing the pads earlier - I was told no. So why would that happen?
