On 15 Feb 15, I was traveling South on NC 51 when I came to Stop Light. I pressed the brake pedal and heard a whinning sound and the brakes stopped slightly, not like they use to. I pressed the brake pedal with lots of pressure and it still didn't come to a complete stop, it accelerated and thus ran into the back of the car stopped at the light.
After the cops wrote the Accident Report, I drove about another mile or two, pressed the brake to turned around and I heard that same whining sound again. The brakes did the same thing again, stopped slightly, luckily there were no cars coming so I accelerated to get out of traffic. Now, I'm about a wreck myself. So I turned around , pressed the brake, No Sound this time. Luckily I made it home with no other problems. When I got home I looked up the Recalls for 2001 Honda Accord and found one nearly exactly as what happened to me. I'll take the car to have it checked out later this week to find out IF they can find what happened.
So, to put it in a nutshell, the brakes slightly worked when I pressing the brake pedal, giving off a whining sound. After pressing the brake pedal with more pressure/force, it still stopped slightly and then accelerated. Now, I'm just wondering how much my insurance will go up.
