I took my car in for the air bag recall and 9 month later the SRS light came on and it's been on ever since. I called the dealership the did the air bag replacement and they told me that I have to pay $150 just for a diagnosis of what the problem can be..

The contact owns a 2001 Honda Accord. While driving at an unknown speed, there was an abnormal noise coming from the air bag on the front passenger side of the vehicle. The contact mentioned that the air bag warning indicator illuminated constantly when someone or an object was placed on the front passenger seat. The vehicle was taken to autonation Honda 385 (4030 hacks cross rd, memphis, tn 38125) and the technician stated that an unknown recall was repaired on her vehicle; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 159,000.

Takata recall - on Jan 10th 2017 my son was in a car accident with his 2001 Honda Accord and the airbag deployed and stuff hit him in the face he was bleeding all over his face. The car was totaled and its now sitting in a junkyard here where we live I have pictures of the car. My son was rushed to the emergency room in reno, nv. He is ok now and he a lot of cuts, bruises and had whiplash. This car was not safe for a teen to be driving for his first car! the car lost control on the highway and bounced several times off the guard rails at 65 mph.

The contact owns a 2001 Honda Accord. While driving 30 mph, the SRS indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to rosenthal fairfax Honda (11020 fairfax blvd, fairfax, va 22030) and the indicator was reset; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to bill page Honda (6715 arlington blvd, falls church, va 22042) where it was diagnosed that the opds sensor and opds unit failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that they could not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

The contact was uncertain if the dealer provided the repair and if the remedy from the manufacturer provided a solution. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was waiting to determine their solution to repair the vehicle. The failure mileage was not available.

Takata recall. I had the takata air bag recall on my Honda Accord. I called the number that was provided in the letters Honda sent to my house. We had the takata air bag issue fixed on November 7th at the Honda location in new rochelle. After I got my car back from them, the SRS light turned on which is related to air bag. I called the number back and they said they cannot do anything. I have to take it on my own and get it fixed but how does that make any sense" I called a few Honda locations and they told me they would charge me for a diagnostic! Honda puts in defective air bags and then they supposedly fix it and after that I get a light for air bags and I'm told I have to fix it on my own" extremely disappointed with Honda and their service. This is beyond frustrating.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2001 Honda Accord. The contact stated that another vehicle crashed in the passenger side of the vehicle. The air bags deployed with metal fragments discharging from the inflator. The contact sustained an eye injury that required medical attention and resulted in the contact losing the eye. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed. The vehicle was inspected by the manufacturer and takata; however, the diagnosis was unknown. The VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 15V320000 (air bags). The failure mileage was 180,969.

Takata recall. The takata recall was fixed in Dec 2015. The SRS light came on constantly in July/Aug 2016. Called Honda and they stated there were no recalls or warranty service on this item - not related to the takata recall. This is not an isolated incident - there appear to be multiple instances of the same issue (SRS light illuminates following takata recall repair) in the ntsb complaint database and other complaints found through internet searches. Honda should extend this warranty when related to airbag issues since it is a safety issue - the airbags will not work when SRS system fails. They seem to have a lot of problems related to airbags.
