This is my 77-year-old mothers' car. She has granny miles on it, so very low mileage, kept in the garage mostly or a covered carport. It's a 2002 and she noticed a small paint peel on the hood after three years later, but it was about 2010 when the peeling because significant and noticeable enough for her sons and nephews to remark on it. In the past 2 years, the paint has just virtually peeled off it strips, right down to metal. When it started to do this, I realized this is probably a manufacturer defect and NOT from normal wear. I'm hoping that Honda will agree to pay for repair of my mom's car. Or to find a recall so she doesn't have to deal with any runaround about this being normal wear. And/or a class action suit. Sure could use some advice on how to proceed. Thanks.

I have been a long time Honda guy. I bought my daughter one for her first car and the paint is peeling down to the primer on her 02' Honda Accord, 2 door coupe. This is a top of the line model with all the bells and whistles. I plan on carrying it to my local Honda dealer and see if they will help....I really don't expect them to but worth a try.

clear coat is peeling off front and rear bumpers
It's very annoying as with the paint fading under where the clearcoat was, it is only a matter of time before the paint will be gone.
