I LOVE MY CAR, I LOVE THE COLO BUT IT IS SO ANNOYING WHEN THE CLEAR PAINTS STARTS TO PEEL AND THE MORE IT RAINS THE WORST IT GETS, I FEEL THAT I GOT A BUM PAINT JOB FROM THE GET GO! WHEN I CALLED LAST YEAR HONDA TOLD ME THAT I SHOULD HAVE REPORTED THE INCIDENT WHEN I GOT THE CAR, WELL I DIDN'T BUY IT NEW, NO WARRANTY AND IT WOULD HAVE BEEN FIXABLE WITHIN THE FIRST FIVE YEARS! WELL I AM NOT THE FIRST OWNER AND IT DIDN'T OCCUR UNTIL AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR IN 2009 WHICH MEANS IT WAS ALREADY 4 YEARS OLD! ADMIT THAT THERE WAS A BAD PAINT JOB FROM THE BEGINNING PLEASE AND I FEEL IF I AM A VALUED CUSTOMER WHICH YOU SAY SO MUCH THEN PAINT MY CAR!!!!!!!!!

Honda is aware of this issue and they do not want to take ownership of it. I see lot of Honda with similar issue on the road. It's about time to file class action law suite against Honda and remind them of their responsibility.

Honda is aware of this issue from a multiple of owner complaints but refuses to accept any liability. Let the consumer beware. I would be happy to be part of a class action lawsuit. I have an identical Honda I purchased 7 months earlier and it has no paint problems.

Several large white spots on the trunk and along the seams of the trunk where the clear coat is gone. Reported to dealership and Honda Customer Service and was told there is no assistance available for this issue given the age of the car. Honda suggested this was due to my water (I have well water with no chlorine or chemicals added!) or the soap used to wash the car (normal soap specifically made for car washing) or the wax that was used (again, wax made specifically for car waxing). They don't seem to have an explanation for why the problem is not over the whole car rather than just select spots - we do normally wash and wax the whole car at one time! There is no explanation other than poor quality paint and clear coat on this car. I've owned Hondas my whole life and this is the only one that has displayed this type of paint problem.

I am absolutely appalled by the clear coat and paint problem that Honda will not take any responsibility for. This is a widespread issue that the company should recognize in order to maintain their integrity as an automotive corporation. As with most of the other reported issues by other Honda customers, my paint problem began with a dull discoloring, followed by splotchy white spots, then VERY QUICKLY, the car started FLAKING and peeling off the clear coat. It is like a cancer; it spread from my trunk, to my roof, to my door panels, and finally, I have spots on my hood recently discovered. Honda’s paint and body shop quoted a $2000- 3000 price range because my car now needs to be completely repainted. My car is mostly kept in a garage and is only 6 years old!
My family has been loyal Honda customers for the last 20 years. The inability of both Honda Dealerships and Honda America Corporation to rectify this issue disgusts me. They have not been of any assistance in this matter for my problem, although representatives from the dealership and Honda America agree that this should not be happening with a 6 year old car. It is clearly a defective paint quality issue. Honda is basically just looking the other way. I encourage everyone with the same issue to keep posting their complaints so something can be done on this paint problem!

I love this car but it looks horrible. Embarrassing to drive as the clear coat is peeling on the roof, hood and trunk. It is garaged and well cared for and still this has started. The inside looks new and the outside is getting worse. No recalls but found lots of other people having the same problem. I bought this car because of it's reputation for quality and now this. Not acceptable. And with it being highly visible, it is an advertisement for poor quality Honda manufacturing. Why won't they buck up and fix this problem!

I noticed my clear coat start chipping off on the roof near the moon roof area. thought it might be related to some hail damage repair, but I am now learning that other people are having this same problem. I am noticing that along every edge that the clear coat is also peeling off. I am very disgusted with this because Honda is supposed to have better cars. I plan on taking it to the dealer, but I feel like nothing will be done about it.

Never had a paint problem like this in all the cars I've owned. There is something fundamentally wrong with the original paint and clear coat. I see it on Hondas all the time now. Definitely something Honda should be held accountable for. This problem alone has made my decision that my next car will not be a Honda although I've had three since the mid-80's.

Paint began oxidizing on spoiler and roof first, then spread to Trunk and the leading edges of body panels as well as trim around the windows. The hood seems to be a separate issue where the clear coat is simply peeling away in chunks from the sides, no oxidizing. I have seen a lot of others with paint issues online and the resale on used Hondas and thus the perceived value when buying new is going to go down because of issues like this not being taken care of. I could understand paint oxidizing over time on an early 90's Civic but on a vehicle less than 10 years old it's simply ridiculous.
