The contact owns a 2005 Honda Accord equipped with aftermarket sumitomo falken tires, size: 205/60/R16 (na). While driving approximately 65 mph, the front driver side tire tread separated from the tire. The failure damaged the front driver's side headlamp assembly and wheel well. The vehicle was towed to a tire shop where they replaced the tire; however, the vehicle still had three of the same sumitomo tires. The tire manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The tire failure mileage was unknown. The vehicle failure mileage was 287,769.

On August 12, 2019 I purchased 4 ohtsu FP7000 205/6016 tires from eastern state tire & automotive center in West nyack NY 10994. I drove my car about 104 miles on the new tires, and on August 15, 2019, while driving on the nys thruway, 3 of the tires went flat. As per instructions from eastern state tire, I had my car towed to prestige tire & auto service center in kingston NY 12401. And there, prestige advised me that on all 4 tires the valve stems were leaking. Thus, as 2 of the tires were damaged beyond repair, they replaced them, and replaced the valve stems on the 2 remaining tires that they salvaged. I do not know if the fault of these tire failures is in the manufacturers design/production or that of eastern tire of West nyack. I leave that determination up to you. I have the original tires for your inspection. I fear that if it is a defect in the tires, others may now be at risk. Please advise?

I were driving on freeway 405 near ucla at 55mph. There was a completed flat tire on my left front wheel of Honda Accord 2005. I felt the flat tire and see the ABS light on my dash board turned on. After complete flat tire, the tire debris rip off my ABS sensor wire for the left front wheel. My rim has no damage. Since my tire is only a few months old, so I get free replacement from costco. I think the Honda has a bad design on the ABS sensor wire to my left front wheel. The ABS sensor wire is not properly covered. The flat tire debris ripped off the ABS sensor wire. Contact Honda customer service about this. They said it is not their issue. I think a properly design car should not have anything rip off when a complete flat tire happened. Honda should have covered the ABS wire more effectively.

The contact maneuvered to the shoulder and noticed that the rear passenger tire was flat and shredded. The contact installed a spare tire and the vehicle was taken to an independent repair shop. They were unable to diagnose the failure, but the tire was replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage of the tire was 7,000.

Updated 02/17/10 upon daylight, the consumer noticed there was a ring of dry rot around all four tires. The tires were the original equipment and the vehicle did not come equipped with a spare tire. The consumer contacted Michelin and was told to take the vehicle to an approved Michelin dealership. Michelin offered the consumer 25% off a purchase of four new tires. The contact drove to a local repair shop and they stated that the outer side wall was blown and the tire was defective. The current mileage was 9,665 and failure mileage was 9,265. Aaa was called to replace the tire; however, there was no spare tire in the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence and then to a tire repair shop. The dealer stated that her model year was the only year that did not have a spare supplied in the vehicle. The manufacturer offered no assistance in replacing the tire. The current mileage was approximately 71,600 and failure mileage was approximately 71,550.

About two months ago, had tire rapidly deflate while driving at highway speeds. Using spare tire, took car to tire kingdom where they determined cause of flat tire was cracked valve stem. Tire had to be replaced as the sidewall got crushed and integrity of tire rendered it unusable. A month ago as I exited my car, I heard a hissing sound and noticed another tire had air leaking from the valve stem. I was able to inflate the tire at a nearby gas station and bring it to tire kingdom where they replaced that valve. No tire damage was caused, and the tire was still usable. Three weeks ago I drove about 30 feet off the driveway and realized another tire (completely different than the first two) had gone completely flat. Using spare tire, I returned to tire kingdom where they determined the cause of the flat was another cracked valve stem. Because the tire had a crushed sidewall, it could not be repaired and had to be replaced. I asked the mechanic to replace all 4 valve stems, and he indicated that all four of them, including the two that were replaced within the past 2 months, showed signs of dryness and slight cracking.

Honda Accord coupe (2005) newly purchased 8 months ago. The problem: The camber is the angle at which the tire attaches to the car. Incorrect angle causes irregular tire wear and creates pull on steering. The irregular tire ware causes increased maintenance on the car as well as a driving hazard. Final report is that there is not a fix and Honda will not replace the car. -the discovery of the problem: The car has been pulling to left. I attempted to have this aligned at the Honda dealership (time of cars first oil change) the local Honda dealership told me that they did not have the equipment to test alignment and also did not inform me that they do have a working relationship with a company that does perform alignment it was also time for tire maintenance according the manual. The local service manager over looked this because it was not 'highlighted by the system". she stated this after I inquired about having my tires rotated, balanced and aligned. She also informed me that their balancing machine was out of service and she could not assist me, but that I should be able to get things corrected at my next oil change). -therefore on a following oil change I went to another company for alignment. They informed me that the camber on the left side of the car was out of specifications and provided a report to prove so. I contacted Honda corporation to inform them of the problem. They asked that I have another test. I paid for a second report showing that the camber and toe is out of manufacturing specifications. At this time they also informed me that there was not a 'fix' for this issue. - I reported the finding to the Honda corporation and asked to explore the option of returning the car. They informed me today that I can not return the car. They can not fix the camber. -the initial alignment inquiry was made previous to the 12000 miles during normal service conditions. No information was given to assist me in correct the alignment issue.
