: the contact stated while applying brake pressure at various speeds, the engine revved at an accelerated rate and lurched forward without warning. This problem was intermittent in nature. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer who performed a diagnostic test which produced no failure codes, although the problem persisted. The manufacturer was notified. Updated 11/9/2006 - it was later determined that the problem was user related. Whent he brake pedal decended below the level of the accelerator pedal the consumer's foot contacted the accelerator pedal causing the engine to rev.
