With my car, there have been recalls on the power steering pump, just not specific to my VIN number. However, after I read the recall, my car was having the exact same issue. I had a crack in my power steering pump and that has been replaced, after numerous calls to Honda in California, to which they basically told me too bad so sad. Now that the pump has been replaced, my car is making a consistent whining noise. I do not have 500 dollars to give Honda for them to first charge me $100.00 for a diagnostic, and then charge me $500.00 to fix a part that is about $1.00 on the internet, from what I have seen after numerous searches on the internet, there is a replacement red o-ring on the power steering pump that is the contributing factor to this mess. I am so angry.
