The clear coat on the hood, top of front quarter panels, roof and hood has oxidized to the point of almost completely flaking off... Looks like my car has leprosy.
I thought that clear coat oxidization was a thing of the 80's, when auto-manufacturers first started using it... It seems like it is an issue primarily with the 2007's... Must have been a bad batch of clear coat....

My 2007 Honda Accords paint is peeling off. It started with small spots that have grown to large circle spots on the trunk, hood, and roof.

My wife purchased this car is 2006. Five years later the paint car is peeling off badly and the whole aspect and view of car is really bad. I have noticed other similar honda accord while driving around WITH EXACTLY the same problem. This is really bad. The least the manufacturer can is do is to offer getting the paint issue corrected or at least part of the cost to get the car re-painted.

The dealership kept "losing" my information and over a span of several months asked me to come back to take more pictures. Finally was told my paint warranty had run out and would not cover the cost. I was told it was due to the environment and it was made in Mexico. Really??? This is my second and last Honda.

2007 Honda Accord, low mileage, well maintained and the paint is flaking off along the entire upper edge of the rear window and the gullies along either side of the trunk space. I think this is a manufacturing defect and should be addressed and corrected by Honda.

Bought a certified used honda and the paint chipped and fell off the bumper the first few months of having the car. Apparently the car had never been in an accident, but the bumper looks like it was replaced. Honda will not replace or fix it. Looks horrible. Never buy a used car from Route 23 Wayne Honda!

2007 Honda Accord Alabaster White - purchased in 2009. Paint began chipping off around the edges of hood about a year ago. Most recently larger chunks of paint have started peeling off on the hood, roof and right aperture. I took it to a Honda dealer, they took photos of all areas affected, there are many. They had me drive over to their collision repair shop and they also took photos to prepare an estimate that would be sent to the dealership. The dealership had a person come in to look at photos, the estimate to repaint the affected areas is $3,000.00, Honda is willing to give me $1,000 toward the cost of repainting the affected areas. The collision repair shop said that my Honda was worse then any Civic they had seen and that Honda paid full estimate price for the Civics to be repainted.
I called the dealership requesting a face to face with the representative that made the decision to only give me $1,000 toward the price quote to repaint the affected areas, I am still waiting for a return call. I have taken very good care of my car and feel that Honda should pay the full price to repaint my car. This is obviously an issue with the paint and clear coat. Does anyone have any ideas or helpful hints as what I should do or who I can contact?

I purchased my 2007 Accord EX from Gillman Honda( now Spring Branch Honda) in Houston, Texas on August 8 , 2009. It was a Honda "Certified" used car. I was never informed by the dealer that the car had been in a wreck. When I noticed the paint/clearcoat falling off the driver's side recently approx a month ago, I investigated and discovered via a free Carfax report from AAA that the car had been wrecked sometime back in 2008 BEFORE I purchased it.
Apparently, what ever physical damage the car had, it was fixed and the drive'rs side repainted from the roof rail just above the windows, down to the doors where the most significant paint is falling off. Beginning with this roof rail on the driver's side, it is very dull. Not sure what happened just to this side. My AAA report does not tell, who repainted that side, but I have a feeling it was Penske on Conrad Sauer Ave, not far from the dealership. They just did a sloppy job and I wish they would take responsibility for it and make it right by re painting and sealing the paint correctly so it will last. Honda, Spring Branch Honda, or Penske. But my AAA car fax report just states that it was in a wreck and the side of the car involved, not who fixed it.
In a separate issue, I had a problem with the pedal/throttle position sensor in April of 2012 to April 2013 that would not notify the check engine light and after numerous misdiagnosis, with Honda of Katy, I went and had torque converter overhauled at Amco on HofK's recommendation to no avail. $2000.00 and certified PWR warranty bailed on me and decided they would not cover since I had not changed an air filter back in 2010 because it was recommended at Gillman Honda. Honda does not stand behind their warranties. Wascorp warranty came with the so-called certified car. Paint problem and wasted $2000.00 transmission overhaul, very horrible to deal with.

My 2007 Honda ACCORD is the EX-L NAVI. This model is a highly upgraded model with all the "bells & whistle's" (leather heated seats, navigation, sunroof, etc.) for 2007. I am VERY angry that the roof top paint is bubbling, peeling, fading and flaking. This started toward the end of 2020 - I didn't get out to the dealership due to COVID. If I wanted to have peeling paint in 13 years, I would have bought a Chevy! I buy ONLY Hondas and expect the paint to last & go "the distance". PERIOD. I expect Honda to re-paint the roof with hi quality paint. I'm going to see a Honda dealer next week & I hope they stand behind their Accord's, but from reviews, it looks like Honda is pulling a "Chevy" warranty. I REALLY hate this.
