Driving the car to pickup my daughter, engine light comes on, picked her up and got another 3 kms then the spark plug blew out of the head. Towed it home and checked it out. The threads are stripped on the head and now I have to get it fixed or get a new head installed. This is my third Honda Accord and I am thoroughly pissed at this happening. Will be bringing it into my mechanic to get it fixed tomorrow. Time to buy a Toyota!!!!!!!

I've had the car since it was brand new. Always have had the recommend maintenance done at the Honda Dealership. Spark plugs / Tune up is recommended at 100K... Well I didn't quite get there. Was driving home at freeway speeds with no sign or warning BANG!!! I hear a loud boom, pull over immediately and pop the hood open I could tell the ignition coil on cylinder #4 popped off, a few minutes late I see a lot of smoke and flames coming from the passenger fender and front bumper. Fire department came to put out the flames. My insurance is covering the damages from the fire but I'm on the hook for the blown spark plug!! Quick google search and I find it's not that uncommon for this engine to blow out #4 or #5 spark plug! The car is still at the dealership, hopefully the damage is not that much.

Started hearing a strange noise in the engine ... almost like something was caught in a fan. Took it by the tire shop I used to get oil changes, etc and they said it was a timing issue with one of the valves and not to worry. Next day the engine started jerking and the check engine light came on. The car kept acting as though it was going to stall. Took it to the Honda dealer and they informed me that one of the spark plugs was ejected or blown out and then was sucked into the engine. They offered me the choice of switching out that one cylinder for over $5,000. I took it to a mechanic at Auto Fitness in Hickory, NC. I ended up paying around $3,500 for a used engine with only 60,000 miles.

I was driving a car to Sacramento then the engine light came on and engine started making a weird noise. I called the towing company to come pick up the car and take it to dealer in Tracy. $2000 later I found that the spark plug was shot out of it's hole and broke the treads , so they needed to retread the hole and insert the plug again.
