On 09/15/15 driving on highway at night, ran over something on highway, object hit the driver side airbag sensor on the undercarriage, deployed driver side airbags. No damage to car, other than that caused by the air bags deploying and the sensor itself. Quoted $4,300 to repair. Is in garage at this moment for repair.
Why is driver side air bag sensor unprotected on the undercarriage. When the air bags deployed it was the sound of a loud gun shot in my left ear, thought a tire had blew; did not know air bags had deployed until I went to get out of the car to check tires. When I got back in the car, the seat belt had seized, could not be used. Thought side air bags were only to be deployed by a side impact ?!
I had just had the faulty front airbags replaced three weeks prior to this incident. Luckily the incident happened less than ten miles from my home, I had just started out on a 684 mile trip. Had to rent a car to continue my trip.

Airbag light on dash goes off every day for the past week. Nothing out of the ordinary with driving. It will be in the morning when I start the car and will not be on when I drive home over 10 hrs later. The dealer refuses to take any responsibility nor has checked it out. I feel like this is a danger and was told BY A HONDA REP CSR AT 800-999-1009 THAT MY AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY WITH THE LIGHT ON. There has been a recall on the airbags and I was told my car didn't qualify...yet I have recently seen people with other 2006-2007 Accord's that have had their airbags replaced under warranty.

Need to know which government agency handles this type of complaint.

Apparently ran over something on roadway that hit the side air bag sensor on the undercarriage, deploying the side air bags and driver's seat back air bag. The air bags deployed but DID NOT INFLATE! There was no damage to the car other than that caused by the airbags deploying, cost $5,000 to repair the interior damage and air bag sensor on under carriage. Do not believe I should have had to pay for replacing the defective airbags, State Farm said that there was not enough dollar loss to pursue Honda, The air bag sensor should not be that vulnerable.
