chrome on end of exhaust pipe keeps falling off

I have to replace, at my expense, and for the second time the left rear chrome tailpipe cover on my '08 Honda Accord EX-L. They are held on by 2 little screws, and sorry to say, Honda couldn't come up with something better than this?

Both times it has involved the left cover and someone else on this site has reported the same problem on the left side-??

The Honda dealership charges $52.78 for the part (San Antonio, TX).

As of today, they report "no recall" and recommend I buy some "lock-tite" from WalMart and "maybe that will hold". I got a better idea, I'll tell the world on car complaint.com AND WELD THE SUCKER ON.

Chrome pieces on end of exhaust pipe keep falling off. They are only held on with a screw. They are not welded on. Look at the tail pipes of passing Honda Accords. You will see a lot of them missing.
