DEALER SAYS IT NEEDS ALL NEW PADS, NEW BACK ROTORS, AND THE FRONT ROTORS TURNED AT A COST NEARING $700.00 DOLLARS. THIS IS INSANE! WE OWN A TON DIESEL TRUCK THAT HAS 64,000.00 MILES ON IT AND IT HAS ONLY HAD ONE SET OF FRONT PADS REPLACED ON IT. THIS REPAIR FOR THE HONDA WILL COST MORE THAN WE HAVE SPENT ON ALL OF OUR VEHICLES BRAKES IN THE PAST DECADE AND IT IS ONLY TW0 YEARS OLD.

2008 Honda Accord LX-P 22,000 miles. If I didn't read the blogs on other sites and this site I would have never known what to do or it was even happening. Then I got the letter in the mail from Honda about the payback. I always kept an eye on the back breaks, and every time I rotated the tires I checked them, you can see your breaks through the spokes of your rims with an LED flash light . When it got down to a certain point I brought it to the dealer with the letter and they charged me whatever Honda gave $150.00, there usual break job costs were $210.00. Thanks to everyone.

So one year after replacing the first set of rear brakes AND rotors - it happened again. Just note never have had to replace the front brakes on this front wheel drive car - with manual transmission! So now I am over $1200 in brake investments.. Apparently this is a yearly cost of owning a 2008 honda accord... Everything online says this is only $150 cost - bullshit! I have now paid basically $600 each because the rotors had to be replaced too. Honda needs to do better. The lawsuit isn't help ful because it does not cover the true cost, much less the inconvience. Additionally do you know how hard it is to go back and get reciepts from the repair shops that actually have the specific Part number, accurate VIN, etc on receipts... - another really pain in the ass endevor....

Was quite shocked to have the rear brakes go out on a front wheel drive car prior to the front brakes - especially since this is a manual transmission and there should be a lot less wear on the brakes. Have had many Honda's - don't think I have ever replaced rear brakes!

Went in for an oil change. They told me my rear brakes were wore out said it would cost $250.00 at the dealership. I watched the youtube video and replaced my brake pads with ceramic pads from Oreillys for $78.00 If your gonna do it yourself!!! Make sure you watch the video real close theres a special tool you will need unless your mechanically inclined!!!

The rear break pads on my 2008 Accord were gone. I was very surprised to see that a vehicle with such low mileage was in need of new break pads. The dealer never notified me of the problem they were having with the Accords.

Class Action Suit is not enough money to fix the problem, so I am not going to participate. Talked to dealer......Service Manager agreed to fix the problem and charge me 165.00 and I can file a claim with class action and get reimbursed for 150.00. What is wrong with Honda? I can't get to work because I do not have the 165.00 right now.

This is the 4th set of brake pads put on the car! The pads do not wear even, wears on the back 1/4 of the bad. Honda refuses to fix the problem. Honda just replaces the pads for them to wear out in the uneven pattern again. I have also replaced the rotors. Looks like this a common problem that Honda is not fixing. Should be a recall! Bad brake design.

Went in for an oil change but rear brake pads had to be repaired after only 18000 mi, cost $251 from dealership but Honda settled a class action suit for $150, so I'm out $150 for something they did wrong. Is this going to happen again soon?????

I hope honda is monitoring this padge because after I have the breaks repaired I will deduct the cost from the next payment or payments after all my contract is with Honda and not a break pad manufacture or suplier. I strongly recomend others do the same. You are a costomer and shouldn't be pulled into their legal issues.

After only 16,000 miles needed new rear brakes and rotors. Last car I had the first brakes lasted almost 50,000 miles.
Cost $480 to fix and I "might" get back $150 from the settlement. That's terrible!!

I also have a 2008 Honda Accord with brake problems. At 21,700 miles, I noticed some scraping sounds. Since I needed to have the leather seat cover replaced (it was wearing through), I decided to have the dealer look at the brakes. They were metal-to-metal sounds since the pads were completely gone. Unfortunately, everything was ruined and I needed all new back brakes at $300!!! How can that be?
I know that I will get a rebate for $150 but that doesn't touch the full cost or the loss of confidence I now have in Honda cars. I'm wondering if there's a way to make all these complaints more public to put pressure on the company to fully cover the new brakes.

I have had my honda since jan. 2008 and i have replaced my brakes 4 times already.i see that so many others have had the same complaints with their 2008 accord. The dealership has replaced the brakes for $50, which further tells me that honda knows that these brakes are a problem. I dont understand why they don't issue a recall on them.

i had bought a 2007 honda accord in 2006 ...i had no problems...so in 2008 i had to buy another accord due to someone totaling my 2007 ...so i bought this acoord 2008 and replaced the rear brakes after 13months 2009 and now 15months later 2010 had to replace my rear brakes again and turn my rotor...this is bs..they should cover brakes for 3yrs or 5yrs...i wont be getting another one after this...
