Accord LX 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 57,851 miles

Dealer just gave us the bad news after bringing the car to them because of noise - humming and screeching at low RPMs and idling, especially when turning the steering wheel. We were told there are metal shavings and steering fluid all over the bottom of the car even. Before bringing it to the dealer I did check the steering fluid level and it looked full.

I am familiar with the symptoms since I had a similar issue with the steering system on 2 other vehicles but both were at least 8 years old. This is only year 4 on my Accord! It has been a good car thus far but hope this is not the beginning of problems.

Accord EX 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 13,000 miles

this problem was more annoying than anything. whining and humming at low rpms while driving. Only had 13000 mi or so on the car when I had to have the power steering rack mount replaced. The dealer kept the car three days without offering a rental.I thought this is unheard of for a new car but the longer I drive it the more I learn about the #1 Selling Car in America. I will never by another Honda again

Accord EX 4 cyl

I started getting weird grinding noise. It was more loud at 2000 rpm. I took the car to dealer first time and they thought it is standard noise from Timing Chain. After few days of driving I was sure there was some issue. So I went back to dealer and this time they saw the car from under and found that Power Steering Pump was leaking which has cause problem to Steering Rack which was making so much noise. Dealer replaced power steering pump and rack under warranty. I was surprised that this could failed so early. But under warranty it saved me lot of money for repair.
