Transmission in this accord along with many other Honda models are pretty bad. Accelerating from a stop right in between 1st and 2nd gear the transmission shudders and thuds and it shakes the car. Many times it does the same thing going from 3rd to 4th gear. It won't do it if you accelerate hard enough through these gears but it'll absolutely do it if you're just cruising along at a normal pace. The transmission has also slipped on multiple occasions which doesn't seem like a good sign to me. It's been doing these things since I got the car not even a year ago. Only has 69000 miles on it now.

Several passengers in my car separately and unsolicited mentioned shuttering in the car as it accelerated. The problem had been there for some time but i didn't realize the issue as the change over time was subtle. But as people kept bringing it up, I had it checked.

I was told the transmission needs to be rebuilt as there is an issue on acceleration between the 2nd and 3rd gears. The estimate is for $2200 assuming no other parts need to be replaced as they do the work.

I am ticked. I thought this Honda would last for 200k miles and I barely have 90k.

Took car in at 28,775 mi. with complaint. Techs said they could not duplicate and sent me away (I am after all just a woman with a vivid imagination!). The problem has gotten continually worse; took car back to dealer. Car was test driven, they still said they could not duplicate problem; however, the service adviser finally did admit feeling a "very slight shudder" while driving that was "normal for this vehicle at this time." I disagree. This is not normal. I told them I think it is a torque converter problem, and they recommended to start with a transmission flush, which I declined since they would charge me approx. $200 to perform that service. The tech also finally said that he has seen this in several cars of that model and that Honda may come up with a "fix." This is my first Honda, and it may be my last.
