Accord EX V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,500 miles

I purchased my 2009 Honda accord (two door) in January 2009. For the first month and half, the vehicle was fine. The problem is a slight squeaking noise, noticeable when you slow down from 30-40 mph. Being a new car under warranty, I immediately took it in for service. I think I would have noticed it sooner, however the cold rainy weather dictated the windows being rolled up. When the weather got nicer / hot, the windows came down and the noise became apparent.

I've taken the car back to the dealership three times. The initial time their service department told me it was dust particles causing the noise. After having it "fixed" within a day the problem was still heard again.

I took my Accord in a second time. They supposedly changed the brakes entirely, however within 15 minutes of driving from the dealership the problem was still apparent. So bad in fact, when I would come to a complete stop the noise became embarrassing.

The most recent time, last week (03/14/2009) they said they hanged the brakes, ordered parts, put them in (they said) and claimed the problem was now corrected entirely.

The problem is slightly not "as bad", but still unacceptable considering it is a new car. I am looking for any solution to this headache, and wanted to express my dissatisfaction with Stevens Creek Honda in San Jose, CA. and the Honda company in general.

Accord EX-L 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,500 miles

I picked up the accord about 2 months ago and had only driven it for 1,500 miles and it started to squeak every time I hit the brakes. I took the car to dealership and they took a look at it and said the back plate was a little dry; we lubed it and cleaned the dust off. I told them this is a brand new car and there shouldn't be any noise.. the dude at Honda told me "well we checked everything and it looked perfect and there is going to be little noise here and there but you can't avoid it." After they were done doing what ever they did to the car, the noise stopped....well it stopped for 5 miles and then the damn annoying squeak started again.

Thank goodness i wasn't the only one.... I will contact Honda now.... 1-800-999-1009.

Accord EX V6 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,000 miles

Since we have owned our white 09 Accord we have loved the car, the only beef is that the brakes squeak. They always squeak no matter if I hit them really hard, they always have that faint squeak. I keep the car fairly clean, and it's a real head turner, when people hear the squeaky brakes all interest in the car goes away. We haven't taken the car to the stealership yet, but if it gets any worse we are going to have to.

Accord EX-L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 432 miles

Brakes started to squeak around 430 miles, to it back to dealer but unable to repair at this time. The Honda Care Line gives you the same story that there is no fix for this problem at this time. The squeaking is very annoying when pulling up to a stop light in a brand new car and people are looking at you with your squeaking brakes.

Accord EXL 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,500 miles

I've taken the to 2 local dealerships for a total of 5 times. I've had the back and front pads replaced, the rotors shaved, and the calipers replaced. nothing has fixed the problem. I've tried different driving styles, to see if it is how I drive (even though I had a 2007 Accord EX and never had this problem), but the problem continues. I've also opened up a complaint with American Honda.

Accord ES V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 300 miles

I called the service department at Wolfchase Honda in Bartlett, TN where I purchased the 2009 Honda Accord in August and was told this was a constant complaint and they couldn't do anything about it. I told her I wish I'd known - I wouldn't have bought the car. I have had Hondas before and never had a problem. Are the Japanese in a recession also? I think someone needs to know what people expect when purchasing a new vehicle. To me the sound (or lack of) the car is as important as the look and dependability.
