This is the second time that the car has had an excessive oil consumption and the low oil light never came on. The oil and oil filter are changed regularly. Car has not been abused. Car does not smoke and it doesn't show in the exhaust.

Per the Honda Dealer, the Oil indicator light will only come on when the vehicle is OUT of oil, not when running low. If the vehicle runs low on oil (1 to 1.5 quarts) the MIL light comes on (Check Engine), requiring you to take it to a mechanic to find out that the oil is low.

Needed to add 2 liters (out of 4.2) of oil to bring level to top mark. Engine was making abnormal noise and vibrations. Problem happened last year also. See excessive oil consumption.
