I would think that Honda, of all car makers would have tested this seat and seen the discomfort for themselves. If this is not fixed I will be filing a class action suit. PLEASE FIX MY SEATS

After driving the Honda Accord 2010 for a few months, I experienced pains to my upper shoulder and lower back. I noticed the driver and passenger seats are uncomfortable. The head rest is pushing the head out while lower part of the seat has a deep angle.
I think Honda should do something to resolve this issue before any lawsuit arises.

Just picked up a used 2010 Accord EX-L from DCH Paramus Honda (NJ) and wish I did some research first. Looks like I'm not alone, the seat is terribly uncomfortable, like, un-driveable. I won't be keeping it. I'll be at the dealership tomorrow to see what they are willing to do for me, if anything. Just curious, If I am forced to take a bath on this deal, is there any chance Honda will be held accountable for pain and suffering (physical and financial) of victims like myself? I've seen some mention of potential class-action suit on this, and read a host of ugly consumer complaints on NHTSA website regarding this, like serious chronic pain, doctor visits, medication and surgeries. Any good lawyers out there? I'll help get the ball rolling, tell me how! Unhappy Honda owners unite!! HELP!

I have never had back pain until I bought this Accord Coupe. I watched a You-Tube video and had a shop $40.00 to pull the driver seat out, put zip ties to pull the lumbar as far back as it could, and my BACK STILL KILLS ME. This is just the most uncomfortable seat I have ever experienced, and will most likely get rid of the car, and will have to see a chiropractor.

The driver seat creates back pain that is unbearable for me. After a 3 hour drive, it takes 3 days to recover. I purchased the car in late August. I took it back within 30 days and added a $300 lumbar support which made it worse. I took the problem directly to Honda and they said that they are aware of the problem. They do not recommend modifying the seat for safety reasons. They recommended going to the dealer for a local resolution. The dealer (Priority Honda, Huntersville, NS) offered to buy the car back after 45 days (1700 miles) at an over $4,000 loss to me.
I had been Honda’s biggest fan having owned two Honda Accords previously. The 1998 Accord, for which I traded this 2010 Accord, had 332,000 miles. I also have a 2011 with 50,000 miles. This is extremely disappointing for me.

My 2010 Honda is great in every way except the driver and passenger seats are so uncomfortable that I can not go on a long trip. The back sticks out too far into my back and the head rest pushes my head too far forward..It's a huge problem because I can't use it to go far.

The drivers seat is unbearable to drive. My arms go numb, my back kills me and I'm unable to find a comfortable driving position. This is not acceptable for a Honda product. Called Honda customer service and filed a complaint and the customer service rep said that this was the first he'd heard of such a problem.

After 30 minutes driving my back and neck are in pain. I called Honda and said that never heard of this issue before.
- Jorge M., Moonachie, NJ, US
My complaint has been ongoing since approx 3-6 months after making my 1st brand new car purchase. The driver seat causes miserable right hip and leg pain, I never would have purchased this vehicle based on that ALONE as I spend many hours daily in my vehicle! This problem has resulted in many doctor's visits and medications to relieve recurring pain and what I have been subjected to over the past 2 years while driving this Honda is UNACCEPTABLE. Honda should be accountable for their products!!!

WE PURCHASED OUR 2010 HONDA ACCORD IN GOOD FAITH. WE HAVE TWO OTHER ACCORDS, A 2003 AND A 2005 PLUS WE HAVE HAD 3 OTHER ACCORDS PREVIOUSLY. WE DID NOT EXPECT ANY PROBLEMS AS WE HAVE NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES WITH ANY OF OUR OTHER CARS. MY HUSBAND CANNOT EVEN USE THE NEW ACCORD DUE TO THE SEVERE DISCOMFORT HE EXPERIENCES AFTER DRIVING OR RIDING IN THIS CAR. WE ARE HOPING HONDA WILL DO SOMETHING TO MAKE THIS RIGHT BUT WE ARE NOT TO HOPEFUL. WE LOVE OUR ACCORDS AND ARE EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED WITH THE ISSUES WE ARE NOW FACED WITH. I DON'T KNOW WHOSE BRIGHT IDEA IT WAS TO CHANGE THE DESIGN IN THE SEATS BUT IT WAS A VERY BAD MOVE ON THEIR PART. WE HOPE HONDA WILL DO THE RIGHT THING BY US.

The seats in my 2010 Honda Accord are causing me great pain. I can not drive this car for more than 5 minutes. If I have to drive distances I can not straighten up upon exiting the car. My right hip and back and leg are in extreme pain. I have to walk around for 15 minutes before the pain slightly subsides. I experience pain on a consistent basis due to the seats of this car.
This NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY HONDA OR A CLASS ACTION SUIT!!!!!

I purchased this car because I have owned 2 other Hondas and wanted to step up to a accord from a civic. The car drives great and has nice features. The seats are the most uncomfortable seats I have ever sat in. What was Honda thinking when they decided to put cinder blocks in the car? I cannot believe I am stuck with these seats for 4 more years. I travel a lot for work so I need a reliable car with good gas mileage (that's why I traded my pontiac for the accord) My wife drives a 2010 Camry and I may have to switch cars with her since she drives only a few miles per day. My back just goes numb after driving for 10 minutes in the accord. I don't know what to do and am really pissed that these seats suck. I hope Honda makes good on this but I doubt they will

How do yiu fix horrible front seats? They are misery on long drives! We suffer now, but it will be our last Accord on lease expiration.

Bought the car used at Carmax in Sep 2011. I did not notice having pain during the 5 min test drive. After about a month I noticed back pain after my commute to work (about an hour each way). On Jan 13 I went on a 400 mile trip from SoCal to NorCal then came back on Jan 15. I started having severe pain and woke up on Jan 19th and could not even walk. I went to a Chiropractor and had treatment 3 times a week for 3 weeks. My back was not getting better. I went out on disability because I couldn't sit or walk for more that 10 mins. After Chiropractor treatments didn't work I went to get and MRI to find out I had 3 disc herniations. My lower back had a 7mm herniation with Sciatica happening on my left leg. Im still on disability and will be losing my job when I can go back to work. Im on pain medication and I now feel good most of the time EXCEPT WHEN IM IN THE 2010 ACCORD! I dont know what to do.

I just want to add my complaint about the seat in my 2010 Honda Accord EX to the long list of complaints already reported in hopes of Honda doing something. On the drive home from the dealership I noticed that I could not adjust the driver's seat to a comfortable position. I took the car back 3 times to the dealership in hopes that they could fix the seat to no avail. They told me it will 'break in'. They were wrong. After over 2 years of driving I've developed some sort of chronic back pain due to this seat.

Have had my 2010 Honda Accord LX-P for about 2 years now! The seats are very uncomfortable...Why did they add a brick for lumbar support! I love my Honda Accord besides this. I will not buy another one do to this issue.

I have own various Hondas through out my life including Honda Civic 1991, Honda Accord 1998, 2003, 2006, and my latest current Honda 2010. This 2010 Honda Accord has the most uncomfortable seats I have ever sat in. The honda engineers must have decided to use gorillas, orangutans, or chimpanzees as test models for lumbar support. My back pain is most noticeable after about 65 miles of driving. Currently, I am looking to purchase a car seat back support or cushion to alleviate my back pains because I drive 111 miles to work daily.

This is absolutely, positively the worst seat I've ever had the misfortune to sit in. As with others, the problem was not immediately apparent. Either Honda fixes this, or it'll be the LAST Honda I own. I didn't realize that others have experienced the same back pains - but now that I see that it's a pretty common problem...and also realize that my Suzuki SX-4 crossover and Ford Ranger are FAR MORE comfortable, it's time to start thinking of ditching what otherwise is a superb automobile.

After considering a new car, I decided on the 2010 Honda Accord. Leather interior/heated seats. I previously owned a 1998 Civic and loved it. No problems. After 1 trip in this car my back starting hurting. I thought it was just me and bad posture. But, my husband drove it some and he stated that he thought the seats were uncomfortable and were making his back spasm. I hate this car because of this and several other smaller issues. I plan to trade it for another "brand" of car.

It was a decent deal that I got for a 2010 Accord LX-P, at a dealer. But, after a day of driving, the seat proved far too uncomfortable for me - a real pain in the neck and further down. I did really like that car, but there was no way I could sit in the seat for too long. I own a '94 Accord LX, have been driving it for 15 years and love it. So I expected a lot better from Honda. I do wish Honda had provided alternate seat options/arrangements for that 2010 model. The seat is like cloth put over a wooden block, the lumbar support is a big lump and the headrest does NOT allow my head (or neck) to rest! Pity to have a really good car spoiled by bad seats! Luckily, the dealer was good enough to accept the return of the vehicle.
