The contact owns a 2010 Honda Accord. The contact stated that after lifting the trunk lid, the trunk lid fell abruptly. The contact did not sustain any injuries. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the trunk lid springs were fractured and needed to be replaced. The dealer provided an estimate for the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 133,000.

Trunk lid will not stay in the up /opened position. The left and right trunk springs were replaced Jan/Feb 2010. Trunk lid continues to fall. On the head of the individual attempting to access the trunk space.
