This is the first Honda I have purchased (and yes, I am over 50!). I bought based on REPUTATION of Honda Corp. Love the look and drive of the new Accord. However, it was never explained to me that the radiator and AC are placed just behind the front bumper with NO protection!! I'm a woman, and I have to admit I do not climb under a car to see what that situation is like. I understand the basics of engines. I now have a situation where the radiator must be completely replaced because a rock smaller than a pencil eraser has pierced the radiator!!!!! I am now being told, despite an insurance policy regarding this, that I have NO coverage! aaaaagh What to do......
Update from Oct 19, 2010: I tried contacting Honda Corp. who were polite enough but refused to do anything. I finally had to purchase a new radiator for a brand new car! (and it is not cheap folks) The fact that there is no protection for either the radiator or AC shows me that, in my humble opinon, this is a money maker for Honda Corp. in that a rock smaller than 1/8" could cost customers $750.
