This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Honda dealer.
Bought his car back in February and it has been a nightmare ever since. Power Steering Pump went out first week after having the car. The Honda dealership put a new pump on but the real problem was the rack and pinion, but they felt no need in fixing that because they knew I would be back, so they could changed me a bunch of money. The ac quit working 1 and half months after I got it too. I don't think it was working when I bought the car because it was winter time still and I really didn't check it out. That good Honda dealership changed me 1200 dollars to fix that and the car didn't have but 82000 miles. It is terrible on Honda's behalf. They should recall the 2012 Honda Accords rack an pinion, they are very unsafe and people don't have the money to fix Hondas mistake!!!!!!!!

WARNING!!! Please read! This has been absolutely terrible and I will NEVER buy or recommend a Honda Accord again if Honda does not recall or fix this issue. After reading all the other complaints I am shocked how many other 2012 Accords have experienced the same issue. To keep it short. It was very hard to turn the steering wheel at 9,000 miles. It got worse each 1,000 miles. At 15,000 miles the dealership diagnosed to replace the steering rack and pump because of the leak. Cost was covered by the dealership of $2,800. Then at 30,000 miles, same exact issue. This time they did not replace but refilled the fluid (Warranty expired at 36,000 miles, shocking). Now I am at 52,000 miles. At my routine oil change Honda has diagnosed to replace the steering rack and pump because of the leak! This time I will have to cover the cost because I am over 36,000 miles. This is absolutely crazy! I have kept excellent car of my Honda Accord with conservative driving and frequent oil changes. This is obviously a manufacturing issue with Honda. Hopefully this message reaches the right professionals who could go out of there way to help me. I would greatly appreciate it.

For past 3 weeks, started hearing high pitch squeal off & on; squeal gradually got worse. Honda confirmed there was a leak from power steering rack. Part not in stock & not available from other sources in town (of course!). They topped off power steering fluid & ordered the part. I was told it was a major repair job & would require them keeping my car 2 days. This is the THIRD time I have had my car at the dealer for yet, ANOTHER LEAK!! Sure appears that I may need to purchase an extended warranty to keep me out of the poor house if I expect to keep this car. I shouldn't have to buy an extended warranty for a purchase that declares to be reliable.
3 leaks within 30,000 miles is not acceptable to me. My next car won't be a Honda!
