This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Honda dealer.
This issue is definitely worth Honda to look into and recall and fix the cause. What if it causes an accident resulting in loss of life.

Same story as many others: 2002 Accord with low miles and regular maintenance performed at dealership - transmission needs to be replaced at less than 63,000 miles. Yes, the car is 10 years old and has been otherwise trouble free, but 63,000 is not a lot of miles. The dealership is kind enough to give us a good deal to replace in light of our regular maintenance, but $2400 is still a lot of money and not really much of a bargain compared to Aamco. May be my last Honda.
Update from May 9, 2012: This should be for a 2002 Honda Accord - not a 2012 Honda Accord

My 2012 Honda Accord needs to have the transmission rebuilt. Only 80,000 miles. First time as a honda owner. I am 61 years old, my entire life owned Chevy's....never had a transmission issue. So disappointed.
