The contact owns a 2013 Honda Accord. While driving approximately 25 mph, the trunk automatically opened. The contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and was able to close the trunk. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (san leandro Honda, 1302 marina boulevard, san leandro, California 94577) where it was diagnosed that the trunk latch failed and needed replacement. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 48,000.
