Accord LX V6

  • Automatic transmission

THE DAY AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR THE BACKUP CAMERA STARTED GOING BLACK. WHEN YOU PARKED WITH THE REAR OF THE CAR FACIN THE SUN.. NOW IT SOMETIMES DOES IT IN THE RAIN ALSO. THE CAR IS ANAWESOME CAR BUT THIS CAMERA ISSUE REALLY STINKS.. MY THOUGHTS ARE ITS GETTING TO HOT (JUST LIKE A PHONE OR COMPUTER SCREEN)..THE SILVER STRIP ABOVE THE CAMERA ONLY MAKES MATTERS WORSE ON HOT DAYS. THEY NEED TO UPGRADE THE CAMERAS ON THE CAR OR PUT THEM FARTHER BACK OUT OF THE DIRECT SUN ON THE LENSE.

Accord LX 2.4L

  • CVT transmission
  • 20,500 miles

Just less than three months out of warranty, the backup camera of my 2013 Accord starts to fail: the screen is black or very dark with two lines. This issue is intermittent in the last several months. It gets worse in hot days. One month earlier, the car battery was dead and Honda refuses to pay for it because my car warranty expired less than two months ago. What an excellent job for "quality control" at Honda!

Accord LX L4

  • CVT transmission
  • 29,300 miles

When the car is put into reverse, the backup camera screen is black or very dark with distorted colors. This has happened intermittently over the last 18 months, but is much more frequent as of late. My guess (I'm a long time car geek/mechanic) is the switch on the shifter, but it's just a gut feeling that it's the only thing that's likely.

Accord LX 4 cyl

  • CVT transmission
  • 23,000 miles

Periodically, the rear view camera will not work...black screen only. If I push the camera in at the trunk it will work again. However, lately that has not fixed the problem. There doesn't seem to be any correlation between opening and closing the trunk and the camera not working. The dealership said they can't diagnose the problem unless it is exhibiting the problem. This is difficult since it doesn't happen on a regular basis. Has anyone else experienced this?

Accord EX 04

  • Automatic transmission
  • 7,000 miles

This problem is intermittent. When I put my Accord in reverse, the backup camera display is very dull, making it difficult to see what's behind me. Just won't retain its full brightness settings. To remedy the problem I have to activate my "Side View Camera" with the blinker

switch then put the car in reverse mode to get a bright screen display.
