problem #3

Dec 072017

Accord EX V6 V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 59,965 miles

The seat is too low and when you try to raise it, it makes a noise and does not go up or down. It is awkward to drive because the seat is too low and you cannot see over through the windshield.

Accord EXL 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 17,000 miles

Think these are part of one problem. The driver seat position 'safe' has stopped saving and the seat will only move back and forth in very small increments instead of the one action as before.

This 2013 Honda Accord is just junk. HONDA has lost its way! I loved Honda once, when the chair broke the upward motor in the seat broke. I had done nothing to the seat. The seat stopped moving upward and then it got worse, I had it in the top position and it then fell one day.

As I was driving the whole seat shifted downward hurting my back and almost made me loose control of the car and almost hit the car next to me due to the sudden jerk and shrug. I have since had to put a box and manually push the seat in the top upward position to be able to be in a proper seating position. The gearing is stripped from the way the motor in the seat sounds, sound like plastic gears grinding and no movement upward.

I took it to SHOCKLEY Honda where I purchased the Car!!! and they said for $120 they would look at it, I said no way, get it fixed! So then I called Honda representative and they said to get it fixed but then the Tech said it would cost $1200 to fix or replace the seat because it is one unit. This is Bull crap! THE Car is LESS THAN 2 years old and I have had Acura's that had never had any problems with it! ACura at least fix my small problem. But HONDA wants to charge me and due to the fact I was at the time only 6 miles over the warranty wouldn't do it . EVEN MORE BS is the fact that HONDA wants to replace the whole seat for a simple seat motor.

THE DANGER IN this SEAT is that at set at the top level manually it still falls down to the lowest setting in the seat. I could brake and the seat DOES Slide back and I have already pulled a back muscle due to the NEGLIGENCE and ignorance HONDA has on this PRODUCT AND PROBLEM!
