I was driving with my 2 kids after school on Highway 40 West towards exit 192, the car suddenly pulled to the left side without any warning, Though the situation was scary and horrible I managed to stop the car in the grass area between east bound and west bound highway. The steering does a perfect 90 degree turn automatically. I took the car to the nearest Honda service center next day morning (Sep. 14, 2021). They came back with a diagnosis to replace the entire transmission which costs$3,000 plus tax.

The power steering just stopped working in my 2013 honda accord. I am not able to drive the vehicle safely. A mechanic has confirmed this issue. There were no signs or symptoms and no warning lights beforehand. The warning light came on just as the steering stopped working. This occurred in June 2020.

Steering very stiff and pulls towards the right, very hard to turn to left, smelling like something is hot - burning - sensor light is on Took to dealership states rack and piñon needs replaced over $2,000 repairs- I would notice when driving on straight highway and let go of steering wheel would pull to right then the burning smell & hard to turn to left all while having to drive my 2 1/2 year old grandson to work & childcare always been satisfied with car very heartbreaking and expensive

Hello, The steering wheel starts puling me to the left without any warning, while i was driving at 20 mph. It almost cause me to crash. Since it happened the steering wheel almost constantly pulls me to the left. My Accord 2013 has only 62,000 miles. I took car to the dealer. Upon inspection found steering gearbox/eps unit has internal failure. Estimate $3258.95. Honda's corporate office does not reply to my complain. Thanks

The contact owns a 2013 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the steering wheel failed to turn. There was an unknown warning light illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.

Car suddenly began pulling and steering to the right. Have to apply force to steering to keep it straight or turn or correct to the left. Happens when driving, and even when parked the front wheels and steering wheel will pull some to the right, steering wheel turns right on its own. Checked front tire pressure and that's OK, didn't resolve the issue.

My car started jerking to the left uncontrollably. For safety reasons I am not driving because I lose control of the steering wheel. Took it to a Honda dealership and they said that I need to replace power steering rack and inner rods. The cost is $3100. This vehicle only has 119,000 miles, this should not happen

Driving on highway with grooved pavement felt steering wheel start pulling to left needed to hold steering very tight to control car. Pulled car into a parking lot and when applying brakes and loosing hands from steering wheel the car pulled left and steering wheel started to turn on own doing a complete 360 degrees or more. Brought car to an auto center to have assessed and was told rack and pinion gear is damaged. The part is on National back order from Honda according to service center. No warning lights or symptoms appeared prior to this incident.

My power steering dashboard light came on and the steering wheel would barely move. Luckily this happened when I was parked and not while I was driving. Did some research and found that this is an ongoing issue with 2013 Accords. I had to tow the car to the dealer and pay them to replace the computer part that had gone bad. I'm just glad this didn't happen while I was driving. This car only has about 59,000 miles on it.

There was a sudden loss of power steering control. The wheel suddenly turned to the left and was very difficult to return to neutral. We took it to the dealer and there were no diagnostic codes and they "re-set" everything. The problem returned about a week later. Warning lights were not evident in either instance of the problem.

EPS light randomly comes on and power steering is lost. Took car to Honda in 2019 and the problem seemed to be fixed until about a week ago. Very scary and dangerous!

The steering indicator warning light came on and the steering wheel would not turn. Luckily the car was in a parking lot and no injuries occurred. The car was towed to the area's Honda facility and repaired at a cost of almost $3000 dollars. The steering rack was replaced as it is integral with the steering torque sensor and the faulty part.

While driving during the week of 07/15/2021, the steering became hard to control and pulled to left very strongly. I managed to get home. The steering was reset and yesterday 07/24/2021 the issue occurred again. Steering wheel is very hard to control and freely "turns" to the left. I cannot drive this vehicle and cannot afford costly repair but this is a true safety issue none the less. It is impossible to control the steering. I drive less than 30 miles per week and rarely go over 45 miles per hour as I use this vehicle for errands only since I retired. I am mortified to think about what could happen if I were on the interstate driving 65 mph!

Power steering torque sensor or steering rack. I see that there is already an investigation for this. I was driving down an off ramp, when the front of my car suddenly turned to the right. I did not feel the car hit anything. I was able to correct it. However, since then there's been something obviously wrong with the steering. When I turn the steering wheel to the left it responds normally, but there is a specific angle at which the wheel vibrates though. If I turn the wheel to the right, the wheel is tense and also has a specific spot where it vibrates. It vibrates at one spot on the first and second spin of the wheel. If I drive straight the car seems fine. None of the dash lights have turned on. The dealer said to replace the steering rack. However, they can't even get the part due to the computer chip shortage. They said it is on back order and the earliest they could get it is in 6 weeks. Their estimate was around $2,700. So now I just don't have a car and if I get forced to trade it in it's value is bad, since it can't be fixed due to the shortage. If they eventually do a recall, I'll get nothing after I sell the broken car.

Steering suddenly became loose to the right and veered the car into oncoming traffic. Extremely difficult to turn the steering wheel left. Honda dealer states steering gearbox failed internally. There was no warning or warning light and dealer is unable to explain the failure other than it is an -??internal issue.-??
