The paint on this car surprises me. Not by quality. It takes nothing to scratch it (setting a purse on it (not dragging it on it, just setting it on it left scratches in the paint). The car has been kept in the garage since purchase (other than driving of course). It is washed and waxed regularly. Always driven on hard surface roads (I have 1/4 mile of gravel to get to the nearest hard surface, so no thrown up rocks). The front of the car has numerous spots (even one at the rear of the hood) where paint has chipped off all the way to the metal. I have a 2005 Ford Focus with 200K on it that doesn't have this problem! Very irate considering this was the first "very nice" car I've ever purchased. Unless Honda does something about it, it will be my last Honda. This is sad because I've wanted an Accord literally since the 1980's!

I bought a 2014 Honda Accord - left over in 2015, brand new 12 miles on the car.

It is now 04/2017 and the clear coat is pitting ALL OVER THE CAR.

There are 7 cars behind our home, I am the only one with a Honda and the only one with this problem. The Moon Honda dealership said it was due to the environment....Two Chevys (1 white, 1 black), Chrysler 200, Lincoln, Mazda and a Nissan are also parked behind our home and none of these brands have a problem with their clear coat.

This is not right and Honda has lost a customer.....all that needed to be done was realize the clear coat is bad and offer to treat me as a valued customer by fixing this and re-painting.

Reporting this so others with this problem will realize it is not bird poop, other environmental situations or something else the dealership states is why they will not offer up a correction and re-paint their vehicle so it does not shred and look like a car that was in a fire or washed with vinegar.....look around and guarantee you will see a peeled up Honda.

The paint on my 2014 Accord chips by being subject to rain. I wash and wax my car regularly, and the front end was full of chips. I do not drive on busy roads with rocks hitting my car often, and I take great care with polesyter rags and towels when washing my vehicle. The paint is quite inferior and I am very disappointed in the quality of this vehicle. The only solution that I was given since the vehicle is out of warranty was to reprint the car completely. That's not really a road I was interested in taking... Poor quality vehicle among many other issues.

I bought a brand new EX-L assuming it would be the best quality available from Honda. Keep amazing care of it regarding regular cleaning, waxing, etc. Garage kept. In a great climate that is neither too hot nor too cold. When washing it shortly after purchase, I noticed that on the bottom 1/5 portion of the passenger front door (outside), it looks like the final layer of black paint was never sprayed on. At first it seemed like it was only the way the sun was hitting the door but, upon closer inspection, it is very clear that the paint is not present. It almost looks like a bunch of white speckles [on a black car]. In addition, the supposed clear coat that the dealer automatically charged us $700 for is complete garbage, as there are numerous chips and scratches all over the car. Note that I drive the car less than 12,000 miles per year and never take it off road or on anything but well-paved roads. Extremely frustrating!! Makes me want to get rid of the car as soon as I can afford to and get something else. I have always had Hondas because I like how they drive but I am honestly tired of the paint drama (had paint chipping and peeling on every single Honda: 1994 Civic, 1995 Civic, 1997 Accord, 2003 Accord and now 2014 Accord). All of my previous Hondas were purchased used so I assumed the previous owner hadn't taken good care of it, and got great deals so didn't care. The fact that my brand new top of the line Accord has the same problems is a deal-breaker!
