Please note that there was a recall for the 2013 Honda Accord for similar issues. The vehicle will at times not start and only make a grinding noise when depressing the start button, this still occurring after changing the battery and starter twice in addition to the fob battery. I speculate that the braking system may contribute to this issue as sometimes the car will start after pumping/pressing the brake pedal a few times or just holding it after initial attempt to start the car (very frustrating). New issue involves the car starting while only pressing the brake and moving the gear shifter (dangerous as a kid can start the vehicle without pressing the start button). Have reported the issue to Honda (local/California main) and spoke to a Honda representative yesterday (5/7/2019) to no avail. Please issues a recall for these cars having this issue before someone gets hurt, or worse, looses their lives. This has been going on for years and is almost on a daily basis, last even was today.

The month after our vehicle warranty expired, everything went wrong. I had trouble turning my car on for the time when I was at work (about an 8 mile drive from home).. I drove to work with no issues and about 3 hours later of it being stationary, it wouldn't turn on. I tried about 10 times. I had to leave my car there overnight and call someone to pick me up. I was lucky that I realized it wasn't working during lunch. I usually got off from work at 6pm when there was no one left in the office and if I didn't have a phone on me, I would have been alone there in an unsafe neighborhood..the mechanic told me it was the starter and seeing how it was a 3 year car with not enough miles to warrant starter problems, that it was defective. We took it to Honda and they said they would not cover the charges. We paid for a new starter out of pocket and it solved the problem. Now the power window button on the driver's side for the front passenger window does not work. One day it just stopped working. I typically drive with my mom in the passenger seat and she often gets anxiety attacks. The wind makes her feel better and when an episode while driving happened, I wasn't able to put her window down to help her. The left headlight on the car is also broken. I didn't realize it right away since the right one works. In a sense, it's terrible that something in the car was broken and that there was no car signal to notify me. We realize that cars require upkeep, but for a 5 year old car to have this many mechanical issues is ridiculous. I realize that these

When pushing the start button, sometimes the car would start, and sometimes it wouldn't. when it would not start, I would have to try it 3 to 5 times to get it to start. My 2014 Honda has 71K miles and the starter has gone out. Cost to replace my starter was $537.43. My friend, with an idential vehicle, also had her starter go out at 60K miles (same issue). The starter should not be going bad this soon on a "quality" vehicle. A recall on the starter should be issued.

Ignition problems. Car will not start on initial try. It takes several attempts to start it. My car only has 66K miles. Im afraid it will leave me stranded somewhere because it did not start. I put a complaint with Honda, I think it is a factory defect, which has plagued this company for years. I am hoping your Agency can go further with this issue. Thank you

Backup camera is now black and not working at all. I brought the car into the dealer because it was dark and pixelated they offered to charge me over $400 to just replace it. Now when I put the car into reverse the camera is black, it has stopped working all together. The 2 lines still show up on the screen, so the screen is not an issue but no video. This is a big safety issue. Also now when I put my blinker on the side camera seems to roll, like an old tv horizontal hold, before it becomes clear

Getting into my stationary vehicle, regardless of location of the car, at any time of the day whether the first time that day, or subsequent time: I engage the brake pedal and push the "start" button. Instead of the engine turning over, I only get the dash lights and radio. I turn the vehicle off, wait a few seconds then engage the brake and push the "start" button again. This goes on a few times to several times and seems to be very random. When I first began having this issue, I took the car into Honda and they could not figure out what I was talking about, because they weren't having the issue (so they said...). they suggested that I needed to replace the starter, battery, and alternator. I paid a grip of cash to fix these issues, and the car became worse. I will be taking the car to a private mechanic that I trust and I will show him the countless posts that others have posted about this issue, so I can feel confident that the issue will actually be fixed. Then I will sell this car as quickly as possible and never buy a Honda made car again.

Our 2014 Honda Accord LX has been regularly experiencing starter issues. When starting the car from "park, " the car will click as though there is an electrical issue. Battery and alternator have checked out. The car only has 65,000 miles on it, and at the five year mark, we should not be having starter issues. Similar complaints have been shared online in forums, videos, etc. The issue is now becoming more frequent and more serious. Honda needs to issue a recall like they did for the 2013 Accord starters!

I have a 2014 Honda Accord with 30,000 miles and has a bad starter. For the past 8 months, the starter button had to be pushed several tines to start engine. Now it will not start at all. Honda has made a starter that will fail premature because the solenoid is built inside the starter and carbon from the brushes destroy solenoid contacts.

The multi-informational display and radio turn off randomly on their own and re-boot while driving. This occurs randomly and when it does occur, usually occurs several times in a row. There have also been other occasions where the electrical system completely shuts down upon turning off the vehicle and the vehicle cannot be locked, unlocked or re-started.

"check charge system" warning alerts turned on and vehicle electrical started shorting soon after while driving on highway. Power steering and brakes started to fail. Managed to drive home when problem first appeared. Problem went away and came back. Towed vehicle to dealer service department. They said I had a bad alternator. Original recall for this vehicle (17V-418) stated "the battery sensor case mounted on top of 12 V battery may have gaps that could allow for moisture to enter the sensor. If moisture containing road salt enters the battery sensor, it could result in an electrical short and subsequently, a fire. The charging system indicator may illuminate in the multi-information display when a problem is detected with the battery sensor prior to the time that a short may occur." I addressed my concern with service representative that this battery issue may have caused my electrical failure. Dealer said my alternator is bad and needed replacement and didn't agree that the battery issue may have caused this. My total bill was $862.67 plus towing. As I did some research online I found this to be a common issue with the Honda Accord 2014. Not sure if any recourse is possible but thought I report my issue.
