Last yes when the battery was 3 years old and it completely died on me, had to buy a new one. I didn't might since it was $150. A few month (August 2018) ago my car would not start from the first time I push the start bottom and I would have to push it again for it to start. This happened about once to twice a week. But over the last month (November 2018) this issue really increased. Started to happen more often and the car would start after the 5th or 6th attempt. Called the dealer they quoted me over $500 to fix the issue at a discounted rate. But my starter should not be going out this early when the car is only 3 to 4 years old. This issue must be happening a lot because the dealer didn't even ask to do a diagnostic. After I explain my problem they said quoted me for the starter. I have videos of this issue but I cannot upload it. I will place it on youtube (https://youtu.be/pysds6cndnq). Will upload more videos.

I only problem I have for this 2014 Honda Accord LX vehicle is the starting issue. Sometimes I cannot start the car and it strands me on the roadside or parking lot several times. I went to the Honda dealer and they checked that there's nothing wrong. I also went to other auto repair stores several times. And some of them said it's the starter's problem; others said it's alternator or battery's problem. The problem still exists. And when the weather becomes cold, the car cannot be started more frequently than warm days. This problem causes me big troubles because I have to pay a lot to jump start it. And it left me on the road which is unsafe. The car is only 4 years old and only 55000 miles on the odometer. There are so many similar cases with other Honda owner on the internet. I seriously think that Honda should take care of the problem and make a safety recall to fix the problem.

3 dashboard lights appear illuminated on dashboard all at once while driving the car, these three lights that remain illuminated include 1) anti-lock brake system (ABS) light, 2) vehicle stability control system (vsc) light, and 3) electric power steering light. Honda dealer told me that the ABS modulator needs to be replaced and that my car was not under warranty anymore (3yrs or 36K miles). The quote I recieved to replace the ABS modulator from the Honda dealership was $1,700. I decided to google ABS modulator for Honda Accord to see if there were other Accord owners that have a similar issue. Upon search from youtube and Honda forums, I found there to be other owners that have the same problem with 3 lights illuminated (ABS, vsc and electric power steering) and the repair cost if not under warranty can range from $1,300 to as high as $2,000 from what I saw other Honda Accord owners to report. I feel as though Honda is not taking responsibility to repair this outside of the warranty and feel as though they sold me a dysfunctional car. I feel compelled to write this complaint because my car value is 10K and to repair the ABS modulator I would have to fork up nearly 20% of my cars value for an electrical issue that was perhaps faulty design on Honda part. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you investigate it further.

My car was stationary. It was parked at a shopping mall parking lot. When I came back after shopping my car won't start. This has happened twice within a month. The electric ingition is not working. This is electric start failure. There should be an urgent recall. This is very unsafe as it keeps happening even when I am on the road.

To whom it may concern, I've been reviewing several website's where car owners of 2014 Honda Accord sedan's has reported where the ignition will not turn over when you insert their key. I have to turn my key and take it out at least 5 times in over for the ignition to turn over. This is a major concern for my especially if I'm stranded. I was in my parking garage on 11/19/18 at 5:30pm where my car will not start. I had to take my key out and insert it in the ignition for about 5 times before it turnover. My car has had its routinely check ups and I'm not sure as to why this is happening all or suddenly. I'm noticing that this has been happen for about 2 months. When I taken my car to my local dealership- duval Honda on casset ave and they stated that no one has reported this issue. However I have review plenty of complaints of the similar issue that I'm having.

My alternator reading is at 12.0, with the car still being this recent, the price of a new alternator is very expensive. I was hoping maybe to see if Honda actually has a recall on this model.

When I try to start my car, most of the time it won't start. It just clicks. I have to try multiple times and eventually it will start. This is a common problem that Honda should fix. And it is a safety issue because, if it is dark out and your car won't start, then you are a target for a criminal. I am losing my faith in the reliability of Honda's.

On 24 August 2018, several lights came on in the dash, to include the the fcw, ldw, brakes and power steering. I took the vehicle to Honda and was told that my vsa modulator may need to be replaced. They reset it and told me that if the lights come back on, I would definitely need to get it replaced. Needless to say, the lights came back on 2 hours later. I called the dealership and was told they had to order the part, which was $1400 +tax and labor. This is a serious safety issue that needs to be investigated.

When you press the start button, it just clicks. After a few tries, it would start. The problem is a faulty starter (not the button, key, or battery). After only 60K miles? Honda charged $900 to replace it. Called Honda America and they refused to reimburse me. I am disappointed that Honda does not stand by its products any more. They used to be dependable cars.

Starting from last month, the car sometimes cannot be started when I turned the key to start the car. There was no sound. The engine could not be started. In the beginning, it happened about 1-2 times per week. And it could be started after 4-5 trials. Now it happens almost every day. Sometimes I tried 10 min but it still does not work. The machinist examined the vehicle and said that the battery was good. The Honda dealer said it needed to replace the starter with the cost about $900. It seems a known problem since there are lots of complaints about this issue.

  • 42,000 miles
My 2014 Honda Accord has 42,000 miles. Starting a couple months ago, the car would not start randomly. (battery, alternator tested good. No issues with them) I drive a manual transmission, if the car stalls in traffic or on a hill I wouldn't be able to start the car back up. This is extremely dangerous! I have been stranded places because the car won't start. One time it was 100 degrees outside and I couldn't leave to go home from work because it wouldn't start. Since the issue started a couple months ago, it is no much worse. I have to turn the key 15 to 20 times and it finally will start. Sometimes it wont. I have read that many people have issues with these 9th gen Honda Accord starters failing. Mine failed at 42,000 miles" what modern car's starter dies that early"! someone else's starter died at 24,000 miles. Many posts online about the issue. Took the car to the dealership, they wanted $800 to fix the issue. My warranty expired at 36,000 miles. So dangerous, expensive, and frustrating! this problem needs to be fixed by Honda.
