The aluminum engine cover on the bottom of the engine is not the culprit of the problem, designed well enough and sturdy. The problem is the aluminum cover attaches itself to a black plastic surrounding cover and the retaining clips of the black plastic cover are vibrating loose and causing both the bottom black engine cover and aluminum engine cover (connected together) to hang down and almost touch the ground. Could be ripped off and cause damage to the vehicle if backing over and obstacle sticking up (stump, road debris, etc...)

After inspecting and replacing the black retaining clips, both bottom engine covers are now secure again.

Solution is to replace the clips every 3-4 years to ensure your engine cover doesn't fall off or get torn off from coming loose and falling down.

Cheap, poor design for something protecting the underside of a vehicle. Effective but needs monitoring and maintaining.

As with the remaining exterior panels of the same design, needs monitoring and upkeep.
