The contact owns a 2016 Honda Accord equipped with Michelin mic143 (na) tires, size: 215/55/R17 (na). While driving 60 mph, the tire warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle vibrated abnormally. The contact was able to safely get off of the roadway and inspect the tire and noticed that the rear passenger tire was flat. The towing company was called and was able to place the spare tire on the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to dch paramus Honda (120 New Jersey 4, paramus, NJ 07652, (201) 426-4676) to be diagnosed. The contact notified the dealer that the tread separated from the sidewall. The information was forwarded to the warranty company and the tire was replaced. The contact stated that the tire failure was the second instance of the original tires experiencing the tread/sidewall separation. The tire manufacturer was contacted and notified of the failure. The vehicle manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate tire and vehicle failure mileage was 33,000.
