brakes failed brakes failed

I followed two cars and turned right on a green light. All of a sudden I heard a loud bang. I had no idea what had happened. I coasted into a service station and tried to stop my car. The brakes did not work and I ended up hitting the back of a parked truck. Two eye witnesses told me that the driver of a large truck had run a red light and hit me. It was a 17 year old with two friends in his truck that had hit me.

When the car was taken to the shop and told them what had happened the woman helping me suggested it might have something to do with a computer chip. Unfortunately the body shop found nothing wrong with the brakes??? All I know is that they did not work when I put my foot on the brake. No, I did not mistakenly hit the gas pedal. The car was coasting when it hit the truck.

My car has been repaired, but Geico placed the blame on me fro hitting the truck. I would not have hit the truck if the teenager hadn't run a red light and if my brakes had worked.
