Car makes intermittent loud squealing sound around the front tires. Had the breaks replaced but didn't solve the problem. This car has lots of small but expensive issues. Wouldn't recommend.

We purchased the Honda Accord Sport SE, brand new from the dealership. Right from the get go we noticed a rubbing sound. Very faint at first but proceeded to get louder over time. I took it in to the dealership for an oil change and described the rubbing sound to service. The manger took me for a drive in my car and heard the sound and acknowledged that there was a problem with this year model and the scrubbing sound as he called it. After we got back to the dealership he gave me an email from Honda Corporate stating they were aware of the issue. I have taken this car back to the dealership several times and they are telling me the rims are to big for the tires???
They de-beaded them from the rim and still this God forsaken noise is STILL there. I purchased an extended warranty because I wanted to keep this car. However, why would I want to keep it and support a company that refuses to fix the problem and lay the burden on the vehicle owner to buy a new set of tires when the problem existed when we bought it BRAND NEW!!! I was a loyal Nissan owner for 20+ years....I probably should have stayed loyal but wanted to try a Honda! If Honda reads these reviews... Fix the problem and take responsibility for your know defects with the vehicles!!

I may as well copy and paste a prior post here, since the problem is identical, but I updated some details. So here goes:
Like many others I am hearing an intermittent scraping/rubbing sound when car is in motion, sound would be like a caliper or brake pad rubbing. At 5mph its slow, as you increase speed as the wheels turn faster the noise increases. Had it to local dealership, they find nothing wrong (not really), at 12k miles the brakes are still like new. They drove it and definitely heard the noise as well, but after an hour or so found nothing wrong. They mentioned to me that several others with the 19" wheels have been in for same thing. The referenced a tech bulletin and unmounted the tires then remounted (absolutely no difference). I take it to my local mechanic for inspection, mention it to him and he informed me that the caliper is pulling a little. I take it back to the dealer and they said excessive rust build-up on the rotors may be the problem. No visible rust anywhere on my almost-pristine Accord (except the noise). Still looks and drives new, but sounds like a piece of crap when going down the road. Pretty much ready to dump this car for another brand, after owning 8+ Honda's.

Like many others I am hearing an intermittent scraping/rubbing sound when car is in motion, sound would be like a caliper or brake pad rubbing. At 5mph its slow, as you increase speed as the wheels turn faster the noise increases. Had it to Honda City in Milwaukee, WI, they find nothing wrong, at 34k miles the brakes are still like new. They drove it and definitely heard the noise as well, but after an hour or so found nothing wrong. They mentioned to me that several others with the 19" wheels have been in for same thing. All they could do was to offer apologies and said to wait to see if Honda puts out a bulletin for this. I meticulously maintain my cars and this is ridiculous to me. I purchased the top of line Accord, still looks and drives new, but sounds like a piece of crap when going down the road. Pretty much ready to dump this car for another brand, after owning 5 Hondas/Acuras in the past, NOT HAPPY!

Intermittent scraping / rubbing noise when car is moving and the noise increases as the 19 inch rims/tires turn faster. The dealer thinks it's the rim and tires. They rotated the tires and over inflated the them by 5 pounds each. It did not work and the car will be back in the shop this Wednesday. Not sure what they will try next and Honda needs to do something about this issue. Many customers have reported this on several web sites.
