Hi, I would like to address two issues separately for my 2018 Honda Accord 1.5T 6MT; one dealing with the open recall and one dealing with how the vehicle operates dangerously due to poor programming under specific operating conditions. To add, I speak as an engineer working in the automotive space specifically on the design of ADAS and AV systems with ISO26262 and SOTIF in mind. 1) There is an open recall for my vehicle for a fuel pump issue. I am experiencing some of the symptoms of this issue, specifically, my car will hesitate at around 4000 RPMs during acceleration. I immediately back off the accelerator and then the check engine light flashes and I lose all engine power. I then restart my vehicle and it operates more or less normally with the occasional illumination of all the dash lights. I have taken my car to the dealership expressing my concerns (Braman Honda of Palm Beach in particular) and they said they cannot do anything about it unless since there are no parts. I have paid for them to diagnose the issue but since they cannot recreate the issue (as it is intermittent) they cannot do anything. Question: what is the point of a recall if a vehicle experiencing the symptoms that lead to the recall cannot be repaired due to "part shortages"? 2) I want to talk specifically of the vehicle programming to cut engine power off. I think I have a separate electrical issue that causes all the lights on the dashboard to go off and again cut engine power. I understand that engineers may want to design their vehicles to cut power off when there is a potential mechanical failure, but in this case the issue is purely electrical. The fact that I can restart my car and accelerate normally shows that the issue is not mechanical. I believe this programming needs to be addressed. To be frank, losing engine power while driving on the highway may lead to catastrophic consequences. I feel that my vehicle is unsafe to drive since it has happened to me multiple times already.

Car has been throwing check engine light codes for different things for the past three years. First, the spark plugs needed to be replaced, then the electric coolant pump. After each repair, the check engine light came back on as soon as 4 days after but as late as a month after. Most recently, while driving on the highway the car check engine light came on and began flashing and the vehicle would not accelerate past 20mph. I took the closest exit and parked the car and had it towed to the closest Honda dealer where they informed me that there is an active recall and they are waiting for a call to see what they can do to help but that there is a head gasket issue as well as a fuel pump code. Previously when the check engine light came on and it took it to get checked I was told there was no code holding in the system.

During normal driving - clear weather conditions - the car will suddenly activate the forward collision braking. It will literally slam on the brakes and decrease the speed by 10-15 MPH. This happened as I was going down the drive of our neighborhood, I was at 45 MPH with no one in front of me or behind me (thankfully) and the car applied the brakes and activated the front collision warning. There is also an intermittent issue with my seatbelt. Specifically the drivers seat belt. I was witness to someone driving my car - he buckled his seat belt and it unlatched. He then buckled it again thinking he didn-??t do it right - but it wouldn-??t latch. This has happened to me before as well - but usually after the third try of buckling the seat belt it will work and so I thought nothing of it. Additionally, the windshield wipers do not go back to their original position after being in use.

two weeks after I purchased this vehicle the electrical system failed causing the car to drive in the ditch, Land Rover of mount Kisco, ny sold me the vehicle, after multiple attempts to find out what was going on with it, it was found that someone had rigged the electrical wiring harness and wrapped it with electrical tape and taped it down causing the electrical system to malfunction, after that was repaired in august 2023 the car veered off the road again this time hitting a speed limit sign the damage was on the side of the vehicle but the vehicle would not move at all and all the lights were on again, the police stated where the damage is on the car it should not had caused the car to do what it was doing after I explained I was just driving along and the vehicle just went its own way, I told the insurance company about the previous issues, they repaired the car and that's it, I got the car back 24 hrs later all the lights came back on the dashboard, they still could not figure it out this was in September of 23, by December 23 the lights came back on the Honda dealership said it was the fuel pump this was because the lights came back on and the car stalled on the interstate almost causing a collision so I had to have it towed to the dealership, I paid $1300 only to find out Honda had a recall the dealership said it was the same part number and advised me to contact Honda for a reimbursement in which Honda has refused to reimburse me after to attempts, as I looked at the recalls on this car this car has had two different recalls on the fuel pump for this vehicle, that was repaired drove the car for 4 weeks the lights came on the dashboard again, I took it back to the dealership they said its the turbo booster, I am convinced the dealership who sold me this vehicle knew this vehicle was not in any condition to be on the road with a family in it, I have asked Honda to buy the car back they have refused, this car cannot be repaired.

Bought the vehicle in 2022 with 90k miles on it. Started experience engine issues shortly after. Engine light and ALL the dash lights came on. Changed spark plugs 4x and coils replaced fuel injectors over the years. Still the lights and engine light comes on. Turns out I have a blown head gasket at just 130k miles. Did routine maintenance on it and changed water pump. I-??ve never had this many issues with a car and I-??m quiete upset. The years of head ache is never ending.

On February 16th, I visited Walsh Honda in Macon, Georgia, reporting issues with my fuel and car not pulling and acting irregularly. Suspecting bad fuel, I was informed of a safety recall for the fuel pump, which was likely the problem. However, they changed the spark plug instead, charged me for it, and did not address the recall, which has been in place since 2023. They also noted a P303 misfire. The following day, February 17th, I returned for a 100,000-mile check. I spent over $600 on services, including replacing the belt alternator, flushing and draining the coolant, and turning the rotors. On March 18, 2024, the same P303 misfire code appeared. This time Walsh Honda claimed the engine cylinder was cracked and scarred, suggesting a $7,000 engine replacement, despite the fuel pump recall. They insisted on the engine repair instead of addressing the fuel pump recall. In April, I was involved in a rear-end collision and, as a had my car at Five Star Collision in Warner Robins for two months. I got the car back on May 31st, but it continued to act erratically, running hot and not pulling properly. In July 2024, I took the car to Hughes Honda in Warner Robins, Georgia who refused to fix the fuel pump despite the recall, I was told that, that is not the code for a new engine pump. That I would need to pay $6000 for the codes that was put in initially by Walsh in Macon, Ga. citing the need for head gaskets and injectors. They demanded this repair before addressing the fuel pump recall. This pattern of ignoring the fuel pump recall and pushing expensive repairs is troubling and seems to prioritize profit over safety. This is how the common man and woman get screwed by doing the right thing. Being that I am 100% Disabled Veteran I am very disappointed with treatment I received from both Honda dealerships. I wish for not another veteran, man or woman go through the disrespect I received.

Dashboard lights: emissions systems problem, road departure mitigation system problem, collision mitigation bar along system problem, ACC system problem, hill start assist problem, vehicle stability assist system problem, electric power steering system problem, brake hold system problem, brake system problem, tire pressure system problem- every single warning and light turn on when weather is less than ideal (high humidity, cold temp, etc.). When taken to dealership they simply reset the system and all lights go away, but they always come back. Bought car in 2018, always been a problem, regardless of new battery. I take my car in for regular maintenance.

Vehicle stalls upon start on multiple occasions. Vehicle will not start at all on multiple occasions. On approximately February 2024 vehicle sent a warning signal while driving. Warning states vehicle cannot accelerate while driving on the highway, then vehicle slows under traffic speed causing fear of crash while on the highway causing me to pull over and restart vehicle. After restart, vehicle stalled again. Children were present in the vehicle. Called dealer to inform about the issue and was made aware of recall on fuel pump. Dealer does not have parts and will not have parts for recall for months. Called dealers near me periodically over the course of months. All local dealers reported parts will not be available for ongoing months.

While riding down the interstate the automatic braking system slammed on the brakes. There was a semi truck in the lane beside me and for some reason it just applied the brakes and flashed the automatic brake warning sign while using the cruise control. I quickly hit the cancel button on the steering wheel to stop the braking. My lane was completely clear when this occurred. This is not the first time that this has happened. The last time this happened there was no one close to me and the same thing happened.

I purchased the vehicle 1/21. I only took my car to Midland Honda to do all repairs. The last repair I paid them for was a tuneup June 2023. I paid them $1082.90 for the service. October 2023 my car started to do the same thing it did back in June for the tune up. So this time I took the car to AutoZone because the check engine light came on. It showed that it was a misfire. They said the car should not be doing that and that I needed to return it back to the dealership which idea they did a check on the car I was being told it was a fuel pump issue. I asked them if there would-??ve been any notification prior because based on all of the oil changes and anything maintenance that I had them to do they never inform me of anything of a repair that would-??ve required that, I did some research and so that-??s some family members male family members, and they inform me that there was a recall for the fuel system None of my documentation from Honda said anything about any other major issue and that I would not be having any problems they also inform me that the price for the fuel filter would be $1700 to have it replaced. I then took the car for another appointment at another Honda dealership in my area, they perform the same check. They-??re all ASE certified mechanics assuming they all use the same diagnostic device. The other dealership never said anything to me about the fuel system. They only inform me of the antilock brake system, which was puzzling to me because Advance had already told me, it was a misfire for the spark plugs we looked at the spark plugs, the spark plugs from what they said does not look like what a spark plug should look like that has been putting in a calm that was just replaced in June, I contacted the Honda Dealership manufacturing company back in December and was told then that there was a recall for the fuel system. I-??m not sure what the issue is because last not last month March I took the car to another Honda and was told it was a blown Head gas

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the ongoing electrical issues plaguing my 2018 Honda Accord, VIN: [XXX] ]. Since the initial purchase of the vehicle, I have experienced recurring problems with dashboard lights illuminating unexpectedly, indicating underlying electrical malfunctions. In an attempt to rectify these issues, I have diligently brought the vehicle to authorized Honda service centers on multiple occasions. Despite their efforts, including the replacement of the electrical wiring harness in 2023, the problem persists unabated. Despite extensive diagnostics and repair attempts, the root cause of the issue remains unresolved, leading to significant inconvenience and frustration. Moreover, during one service visit, Honda service personnel erroneously diagnosed a faulty gas pump, resulting in an unnecessary replacement at my expense totaling $1375. It is pertinent to note that Honda was already aware of a recall affecting my vehicle, yet failed to rectify the issue under the recall and instead charged me for the repair. Subsequent attempts to seek full reimbursement for this unjust expense were rebuffed by Honda corporate, citing the partial financing of the repairs as a justification for their refusal. To compound matters, on Saturday, [XXX], I once again encountered a recurrence of the dashboard lights issue, signaling a persistent and unresolved defect within the vehicle's electrical system. This ongoing issue has severely compromised the safety, reliability, and enjoyment of my vehicle ownership experience. I am at a loss for further recourse and demand immediate action to address and rectify these persistent electrical issues with my 2018 Honda Accord. I expect Honda to honor its commitment to customer satisfaction and take decisive steps to remedy this situation promptly and comprehensively.
