My 2018 Honda Accord EX is currently having FUEL injector problems at 41,000 miles. Honda is trying to tell me that FUEL injectors do NOT get affected by the recalled FUEL pump. This is very silly because the FUEL pump and FUEL injectors work together. They want $1,800 to replace the FUEL injectors at Honda. I already completed the recall on the FUEL pump, and afterward, they told me my injector was running too rich and needed to be replaced for $1800. There are so many Honda 1.5Ts experiencing these same issues, and Honda does not want to do anything about it. I am currently taking my car to a local shop to get the FUEL injectors replaced for $1,327. I believe I should be reimbursed since the FUEL pump is what caused my FUEL injectors to fail. Honda is trying to tell me that two FUEL components of a car don-??t correlate with each other? This isn-??t fair, and I need to be reimbursed.

I own a 2018 Honda Accord Sport. About 2-?"3 months ago, the car began having repeated engine misfires (P0301), hesitation, and stalling while driving. At the same time, multiple dashboard warnings appear, including Steering Assist Reduced, Brake System Problem, Collision Mitigation Braking System Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control System Problem, Emission System Problem, and Hill Start Assist Problem, these failures occur suddenly while the vehicle is in motion, creating a serious risk of loss of engine power, reduced braking performance, loss of steering assist, and disabled crash-avoidance systems. I have already performed extensive maintenance: new ignition coils, a full tune-up, compression test, spark test, and battery/alternator check, yet the issues remain. Diagnostic scans also showed U0416-68 (invalid data from ABS/VSA module) in addition to the misfire. This suggests not only a fuel/propulsion defect but also a possible computer/control module failure that links engine, brakes, steering, and ADAS systems. These conditions match known recalls for the Accord, including 23V858000 (fuel pump failure), 20V314000 (low-pressure fuel pump), and 20V771000 (BCM software issue), yet my VIN does not currently show as included. The fact that multiple critical safety systems fail simultaneously makes this a major safety hazard that could easily lead to an accident if the car stalls, loses braking, or loses steering assist in traffic. I opened a case with Honda Customer Service (Case #15868389), but they refused to cover the repair since my VIN is not listed, despite the failures being identical to those described in the recalls. I strongly believe my vehicle should be included, and I request that NHTSA investigate whether the recall VIN range needs to be expanded.

This car is known for its faulty engine. The head gasket tends to blow as early as 40k miles, plenty of people have had this problem and yet there is no recall for the engine or a fix. I was driving on the highway and i was speeding up to merge into traffic and my check engine light started to flash and my car went into limp mode on the highway luckily there wasn't a lot of traffic and i got the chance to pull over and restart my car. i looked online and plenty of people were experiencing this same problem they all had the same answer as well, a blown head gasket. I'm just wondering if someone has to pass away before this gets fixed.

I was contacted by Royal Honda (Honda of Harvey, Louisiana) about an urgent fuel pump recall on my vehicle. Harris first through text then receive the phone callInstead of scheduling the recall repair, the dealership used the recall notice as leverage to push a $19.95 oil change special. The representative told me they could -??set me up for the oil if I scheduled the recall, -?? but their focus was on selling the oil change, not correcting the urgent safety recall. When I declined the oil change, they said they were having -??technical difficulties, -?? promised to call me back, and never did. As a result, my recall remains unresolved. This is a misuse of federally mandated recall notices for sales purposes, and it delays urgent safety repairs. Requested Action: Investigate Honda of Harvey / Royal Honda for using recall notifications as a sales tactic and ensure my recall is completed promptly.

Date of Incident: [XXX] Vehicle Information: 2018 Honda Accord VIN: [XXX] Incident Location: North Charleston, SC Estimated Vehicle Mileage at Incident: 78,000 miles On [XXX], while starting and driving my vehicle less than one mile, the engine would not accelerate above 10 MPH. Following this, multiple service alerts illuminated on the dashboard. The vehicle was inoperable and had to be towed to Hendrick Honda of Charleston. The diagnosed issue is a leaking cylinder head gasket. This is the second major engine-related issue this year. In May 2025, I paid over $2,000 to repair a faulty fuel sensor injector. This current repair is estimated to cost over $5,000, bringing my total repair costs for this year to over $7,000 for a five-year-old vehicle with just 78,000 miles. This recurring pattern of significant and costly engine failures, particularly the cylinder head gasket leak, indicates a serious safety defect. It is not an isolated incident, as evidenced by publicly filed NHTSA complaints (ID: 11677717) for the same make, model, and year with similar engine failure issues at comparable mileage. The sudden loss of acceleration and inoperability pose a direct safety hazard. I am requesting an investigation into this defect and seeking full reimbursement for the recent and past repairs, totaling over $7,000. These are clearly not standard wear-and-tear issues and should be addressed by the manufacturer. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

- Year: 2018 - Make: Honda - Model: Accord Sport 1.5 Turbo - Vehicle Identification Number : [XXX] I am writing to report a safety concern with my 2018 Honda Accord Sport 1.5 Turbo. The vehicle has developed a head gasket problem, which has resulted in significant engine issues. Additionally, I have experienced fuel injector problems, leading to decreased fuel efficiency and rough engine performance. Despite following the recommended maintenance schedule and addressing the issues with the dealer, the problems persist. I have been quoted $7,800 for repairs, which is unacceptable given the vehicle's age and mileage (currently 114,848 miles). I am concerned about the safety and reliability of the vehicle, especially when driving on the highway. The vehicle's blown head gasket has caused ?: - Loss of power, leading to potential safety issues on the road - Engine hesitation and shutdown while driving, which can increase the risk of accidents I request that NHTSA investigate this matter further and take necessary actions to address the recurring issues with the 2018 Honda Accord 1.5 Turbo engine. I would appreciate guidance on potential next steps to resolve this issue and ensure the vehicle's safety and reliability. - Repair estimates and records from the dealer - Maintenance records, including oil changes and fuel system cleanings - Correspondence with Honda dealership and corporate office Other owners have reported similar issues with the 2018 Honda Accord 1.5 Turbo, including fuel injector problems and blown head gaskets ? ? -??. I currently own a 2018 Honda Accord 1.5L 4 cylinder with only 62,800 miles at the start of the issue. Around the end of July 2025 the car started to jerk. It started with a slight jerk and escalated daily, over about a week, until the car started going into limp mode. The car was taken to a repair shop near my house. This shop said they were receiving an engine misfire code, replaced all spark plugs, and car driving good again. Around 8/15/2025, I started having the same issues. On 8/19/25 the car went into limp mode again in a busy highway. Took it to a Honda/Acura repair shop. They again found the same misfire codes, replaced 1 spark plug, and the car was driving okay. This Honda/Acura shop found low coolant in the engine and believed I had a leaking head gasket as they have been seeing a high number of Honda 1.5L engines, similar years, with this issue. The shop suggested I contact Honda as it is a known issue. On 8/19, the Honda dealer service department told me they are seeing a lot of that issue but Honda has no current plan to extend warranties or issue a recall, despite the widespread, known issue. The dealership-??s service department instructed me to call Honda corporate to discuss the issue and potential coverage. Corporate did open a case for a potential Good Faith repair. I was told that I would have to take it to a Honda dealership for official diagnostics, pay that fee out of pocket, then submit documents and info for coverage review. The car was driving okay for about 1 week and on 8/27/25, began having the same problems. I was able to get an appointment on 9/2/25 at the dealership. On 9/2/25, the dealership confirmed the head gasket is bad and the car requires head gasket, head bolt, belts, fuel injector, and coolant replacement, and oil change. The dealership again acknowledged this is a known issue with the vehicle. These vehicles are stopping on busy highways (with speed limit of 50mph) and interstates or going into limp mode, not going over 20mph.

my 2018 Honda Accord is having major engine problems. Earlier this year all of the lights were coming on, 7 of them at a time, and that happened for a few weeks before it started overheating. If I was driving over 50mph, it wouldn't overheat, but if I was driving slow or idling, it was overheating within minutes. I took it to the shop in June where they discovered there was NO COOLANT inside the engine. they put 1.5 gallons of coolant in there, and it fixed the problem temporarily, but 2 weeks ago, all of the lights started coming on again. I called my mechanic, and he said his friend had a 2018 Honda Accord that was doing the same thing and that we need to approach Honda and ask them to fix the problem. turns out a lot of other people on the internet are reporting the exact same problem in their 2018 Honda Accords too, and there's even a class action floating somewhere out there because coolant is leaking into the chambers. we already had a fuel injector recall replaced by Honda last year.

I got this car April 2024. By December I went to the Honda dealer for the recall even though nothing was wrong with the car. After December, when I got the recall fast forward to February. My engine is stalling. I could be pulling out my driveway and it-??s stalling. I could be going 10 MPH and it-??s stalling. I was coming off a ramp and almost got smacked by a 18 wheeler because it started stalling as I-??m coming off the ramp. It break checked me on 5th ave. I was driving. No car in front of me. But a car in the back of me. And it just broke on me. Out of no where. Almost causing the Mercedes Benz to hit me. Luckily they were paying attention. I keep taking it to my mechanic. They are seeing nothing wrong. They don-??t want to fix something that-??s not broken also after I did the recall for the fuel pump. Now all these lights pop up on my dash. Driving used to be fun. Now it-??s getting real scary. I am going to go back to the Honda dealer and see what they tell me but I did look up they have to keep fixing it until it-??s fixed. Fingers crossed. I can-??t get another car and I also can-??t keep driving like this. It-??s going to cause an accident.

The engine coolant began to leak into the cylinders of the engine. The engine began to overheat in the middle of the freeway. I had to shutdown the car down and get it towed. The car is available for inspection. Yes, my safety was at risk. Diagnostics from the dealership indicated that the problem is a design flaw with the head gasket being too thin. There were no indications that the car was going to stall until after it stalled. Honda is putting our lives at risk by allowing citizens to drive a car that has an engine become locked/stall/overheat by design and without warning.

While accelerating uphill approximately 65 mph the car suddenly started to shutter and slow down to 35 mph. I forced me to move rapidly over to the right lane on a busy highway almost getting hit by a semi truck. Luckily I was able move to the shoulder and park the vehicle. I shut the vehicle off and tried to start it back up which it did but struggled to turn over. Using my OBDII scanner I found that multiple codes had appeared which included P0087 Fuel Rail/System Pressure to low and P0299 Turbocharger Underboost. Vehicle was towed to my residence where it currently sits until I am able to repair it. Prior to this happening there were No warning lamps or messages or symptoms. The failures first appeared while driving up hill. It was not inspected by manufacturer, police, or insurance. The problem was not taken to dealer or independent service center to confirm since the car is out of warranty and cost to diagnose is ridiculously high. I myself diagnosed the failures and found that the mechanical fuel pump Part# 16790-5PC-H02 seized up and was not providing enough fuel to engine. And diagnosed that the waste gate actuator arm was to loose due to worn out bushings. (Poor engineering in my opinion since there is no way to replace just the bushings on the actuator causing customers to replace the entire turbo.) After replacing the mechanical fuel pump the vehicle was able to start up without issue and drives perfectly fine. I currently still have the fuel pump and the turbo is still in the vehicle if needed for inspection.

At approximately [XXX]. Pacific, I was traveling southbound in the fastrak lane of the [XXX] departing from Pleasant Hill, California headed to Pleasanton, California. As I began to accelerate, the engine began to sputter. Immediately, the check engine light flashed on, then the dashboard reported a number of issues ranging from brake failure, TPMS failure, power assisted steering failure, vehicle stability assist failure and a number of other issues that I have never encountered since purchasing the vehicle. The sudden deceleration almost resulted in other cars impacting my car as this occurred during the morning commute. I was able to safely navigate off of the freeway. I was on speakerphone with Honda when this occurred. Had I not acted swiftly, a potential high speed rear end collision was likely to have occurred. I immediately took the car to Concord Honda. The team at Concord Honda performed a diagnosis and advised me that my head gasket was leaking water into the combustion chamber which resulted in the sudden loss of power. I was and continue to be dissatisfied with the handling of this issue by Honda as my car has never been handled by another mechanic. My car has a perfect or near perfect maintenance record and should not have a blown head gasket at 80k miles especially since my car is meticulously maintained and serviced by Concord Honda. Fuel pump recall. Put in an order with Honda dealer January 2024 for the pump. On February 2025 asked if they submitted the order back in January 2024? They said it was. Now it's August 2025 (20 months since) and waiting. NHTSA says if they failed to fix in a timely manner to make a report online. Is 20 months long enough? Driving with a safety recall. Second making a complaint with the 10 speed auto transmission 2nd to 3rd hard shift and 4th to 3rd hard shift. Putting stress on other components can break mounts, the transmission, axles, ect. could also launch the car into the car in front of you, in heavy (slow bumper to bumper) traffic. Wasted my own money and time draining and filling 5 quarts of honda 2.0 transmission fluid. (Also replaced the trans filter behind the warmer housing) Did not fix the issue. Contacted American Honda and they said It's out of warranty and I need to pay for diagnostic and repairs. (I just bought the car in 2023 at 45k miles. Previous owner must of felt it and should of did something while under warranty.) Honda know this issue from the beginning and hiding the issue to save money. Check the Accord forums online. It's most of us if not all the 18-20 10 speed models. Vehicle is 2018 Accord 2.0 10 speed 50k miles. Plus the normal Phantom braking and lane departure which will automatically steer you off the road, so you have to fight the steering wheel.
