This report of parking lights failure to select "off" was connected to a previous complaint about anti-lock brake sys. failure, and brake sys. failure, brake hold sys. fail., vehicle stability assist failure.

As mentioned previously, the dealer rep. explained to us that the reason for the message displays were due to the fact the battery was weak and drained beyond usability/reliability. It's due to operator use of car radio without car running - too much load on battery, even if only for minutes, let alone hours and hours.

The car would not start and no message display of weak or bad battery was ever displayed (other than those I wrote about above ). Also, parking lights came on with each start attempt - but could not be selected "off". Hence, causing complete draining of the battery - where no lights on instrument panel would come on the next morning.

When the towing service arrived to bring the car to Dealer, he connected a portable power pack to see if car would start. It did, but as he attempted to restart vehicle after disconnecting the portable power pack - again, it would not start - thus determining that the battery had failed.

Seems to us, that the electrical system(s) in this vehicle still have some significant issues and bugs that need remedy. We are ready now to return the vehicle due to lack of trust, reliability and comfort that glitches of this caliber of problems create - all the issues one tries to avoid of older cars... and end up spending more money to buy a new car.

We are also looking into the "lemon law criteria" for our State.
