Warranty just expired in June, the problem happened in August, and the dealer will NOT even look at the problem under warranty. Insists on charging to just look at the problem, but as a senior and on a fixed income I do not have the funds for dealers to gouge me for something that I feel should be at least looked at before charging.

I'm extremely disappointed in Honda's approach to this problem.

A lot of the time the grid lines do not appear on the back up camera. The side motion detection is also inoperable when this happens so it is a safety concern. Once you put the car back in drive, the whole audio control system reboots. I took it to Pearson Honda and they "reset" the system. It still happened. I took it back again and they loaded an update to the system and it still happened. They had me bring it back when the Honda America representative was on the premises. After he and the technicians looked at the car for two days, they informed me that it is working as designed. They said that when you start the car, you need to wait 10-15 seconds before you place the car in reverse. I do not feel it is unreasonable to get in your car, start it up, buckle your seat belt and place your car in reverse but most of the time that is faster than 15 second, so it malfunctions a high percentage of the time. I emailed Honda America and they confirmed that they feel this is the expected way the system functions and they are not doing anything to address it. I feel people should know that this is an issue and that Honda does not plan to address it.
