The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle hesitated, and the engine misfired before the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The contact then stated that while the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle hesitated and decelerated to a slower speed. The check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated and the engine overheated. The vehicle was then taken to a body shop where it was diagnosed that the radiator and thermostat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the head gasket and intake manifold failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken back to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the head gasket and intake manifold had not failed, but the contact was informed that the fuel pump failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced the NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V314000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The manufacturer was notified of the failure by the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 126,000.
