I bought a Honda because I had always heard that they were reliable. Nothing further from the truth! I have received nothing but trouble from every dealer, even though this car, and this motor, and this problem is a well known issue and has also been part of a class action suit. Honda hasn't issued a recall, and Honda denies the fact that this motor burns oil excessively. In fact, they state that 1 quart of oil per 1,000 miles is NORMAL! That's BS. I have owned at least 15 cars and I have never burned that much oil in any of these cars. Not even the oldest of these cars.
Bottom line, DON'T BUY A HONDA

I've owned 8 Hondas and this is the only one that burns oil, even after some car had over 100,000 miles on them. This one started burning oil before the first oil change and now that it's 3 years-old, it still continues to need at least a quart, maybe two, before then next oil change it due.

Before my last oil change, which was in April, my engine light came on. I went to the dealer and they found the code which said I was probably low on oil. The manager put 3 qts in it and sent me on my way. When I asked him how it could be so low, his reply was, it just consumes it. Well my engine light came on again so I immediately checked the oil level. Yup, 3 Qts low again. Now I am on line and found out that Honda has had this problem with it's engines for awhile now. I'm going to the dealer tomorrow to make a formal complaint about this problem. I don't need to be adding 3 qts in between every oil change.
