Exhaust valves come out of adjustment very early causing misfires, destruction of the catalytic converter, and ultimately the head itself. Valves get too tight causing the valve seat to recede into the head. We had to have the head replaced (remanufactured one) at a total cost of $2000. Prior to this we had to spend $1000 to replace the catalytic converter which had gone bad due to the unspent fuel. The head was replaced in Jan of 2016. After 1 year of driving (30,000 mi) the check engine light came on with another misfire code. We took the vehicle to have the valves adjusted again. We knew this would have to be done about once per year. However the next time it happened the mechanic said it's already at its limit. So basically the new head lasted only 2 years! Really one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a car. And Honda knows about the problem - They have an updated insert in their service manual addressing the issue. Their fix? Adjust every 20-30k miles. Well, we tried that and it doesn't seem to be working. Buyer beware!
