unwanted acceleration when at complete stop & brake applied
Having a problem with my 1999 Honda CR-V. I'll be sitting at a red light or a stop sign, have the brake applied and it will just start revving up and start inching forward. luckily it doesn't take off fast as hell, but nevertheless it's almost caused me to wreck about 5 times now. if I have enough time I will usually pull the e-brake then try to shift it into Park. last time I did this though when I shifted into Park the engine started revving so loud I thought it was going to blow up on me. sounded like the throttle was wide-open..... while i'm sitting at a red light doing 0 mph. makes sense, huh? I came on here initially to see if anybody else had the same problem but the only Year of the model i'm seeing this same problem on is the 2011 CR-V. cant find one single complaint about the 1999 CR-V doing it, which I really don't understand, so I had to say something. how can I fix this? because it seems to me almost every single person with the 2011 model that have theirs literally checked by Honda themselves have all said Honda just beats around the bush and either tells them they "cant duplicate the problem so they cant help" or they blame it on the driver because I guess ALL 50 of them all didn't realize they were just "accidentally" hitting the accelerator pedal(bs), so it seems pointless to ask Honda for help. to say it is odd, but I've actually been lucky when it's done it, as there has been nobody in front of me when it happens. but i'm just waiting for a time when i'm sitting at a busy intersection with cross-traffic doing 90mph and it just randomly shoots me out into the middle of the intersection and kills me or somebody else. this is completely ridiculous.
