The tailgate latch and handle is rusted and the latch and handle assembly needs to be replaced on my 2000 Honda CR-V. at the same time the hinges on the driver's and front passenger's doors were squealing. I used a little bit of wd-40 and it stopped the hinge squealing after a couple of sprays. I have kept all of the maintenance schedules to-date.
