Door locks are all malfunctioning. Only 2 work some of the time and the other 3 none of the time. Key works sometimes in 2 of the locks and not at all in the back door.

I purchased the 2003 Honda CRV from anthony auto sales in thomson, ga on 2/21/2020. After purchase I noticed my cigarette lighter/charging port didn't work. Did a fuse test on it only to discover half of the fuses weren't working in the fuse box under the hood. I called to the dealership and they told me it may be an electrical problem I couldn't get the vehicle in because I was having surgery the following week. On February 25 while driving on the interstate the vehicle slowed down but picked its speed back up and for some reason it seems to get poor gas mileage. I like my vehicle I just want to know of any future and past recalls and would like to have them rectified since I now own the vehicle. Past reports have also shown problems with the airbags as well. There's a problem with the door locks as well.

I just purchased this vehicle on 02/21/2020 and I noticed the fuse box was only working on one side. And then riding the interstate it slowed don't and gradually picked back up speed. On 2/23/2018, my 2003 Honda CRV caugh on fire.it was parked in a spot at my apartment complex. I 1st noticed smoke and some fire in left front wheel well. Then bursted into flames. I didn't do any unusal driving. Went to work that day. 3 miles round trip. Did some local driving. About 9pm went and got some gas. Came home, parked car.I was inside for sevral minutes.then as I said earlier, I came out and saw the smoke and the fire starting. Since this happened 3 plus weeks ago. I have of course notified my insurance, to which it was a total loss. Then some peolpe said I should look into any recalls. And I did notice that there was recalls on this make, model and year. Is there anything that can be done on your end to do additional research?

The air conditioner unit has broken over and over. I've paid thousands of dollars repairing it. I'm disabled and get very ill in the heat. There was a recall but I was not told of it until I had too many miles on my car because I used to use my car for work as a social worker. But it starting breaking long before the miles were too high. It's defective. And breaking again. There are other issues such as the automatic windows and door locks. The passenger front window does not work at all. And the driver door lock does lock with the auto locks. And the key hole is broken. So every time I drive I have to lock the front door from the back seat and then use the auto lock. The driver visor has been broken for years. It just hangs. So I have to drive with it to the side. And it hangs lower than normal. Which is dangerous because it obstructs my view and I can't use it to block out the sun. I took it in to the dealer and they were going to charge an outrageous amount just to look at it & determine the problem. Which is faulty design. Because these things have been broken for years. I haven't driven much in the last 8 years since I've been permanently disabled. And these issues started long before that. I don't remember the exact date I first got my ac fixed. But I believe it was in 2005. I can search my glove box for paperwork if needed.

On Tuesday March 14, 2017 the car window motor started acting up, the window would go down on its own. As I started the car I started I began to smell smoke, it appeared to be coming from driver side door near the window. Upon turning the car off and removing the negative end to the battery the car began smoking more and in seconds the drivers door was up in flames. I had to run and grab a fire extinguisher from inside. The fire was put out however the door was completely destroyed, the car seat was burned as well as the steering wheel. The vehicle was luckily stationary, and the event occurred on my property where I was able to put the fire out without causing more extensive damage. I noticed online that there were previous recalls for Honda and the window switch causing a fire. There had been no previous issues with the window.

My son was driving my 2003 Honda CRV on highway 101 South near exit 484A, in rohnert park, ca just South of the todd rd. Overpass/on ramp. It was a windy day. The hood of the CRV came up and hit/broke the windshield. My son was able to look sideways to guide himself off the freeway. He was able to guide himself into a safety zone next to the freeway, but couldn't get out of his car. He reached around from the driver's seat, and was able to pull down the hood somewhat (he's 6'4"). he was able to drive down farther to a more safe area on the wilfred avenue off/ramp. He was able to exit the vehicle, and further close the hood. The windshield is shattered, and there is damage to the hood. The force caused two areas of the hood to bend near the windshield. The hood won't open now. It is in a opened position. There are small dents in the hood from the impact. From this location, he was able to drive approximately 2 miles home, using back roads and sticking his head out of the window to see where he was going. This happened on a Friday afternoon in a rush time on the freeway. Luckily, my middle aged son was strong enough and tall enough to close the hood while in the safety lane. I wouldn't have been able to do so, due to being elderly. We have read on the internet of multiple incidents with the Honda CRV 2002-2006 hood opening up and hitting the windshield, yet no recall has been initiated. There is believed to be a defect in the hood latch. We also have another 2003 CRV, and I am now scared to drive that one too, knowing this could happen with that CRV too. My son called our insurance and arranged for the windshield repair right after the accident. However, we have realized there is more damage. We will be calling our insurance and local Honda dealer (manly Honda of santa rosa) to see how to proceed from here.

Vehicle was parked in driveway at night. During the night, vehicle rolled out driveway, across street and into neighbor's yard. Vehicle was parked, shutoff and key removed even though not put into park. I tried it again and key can be removed after turning off engine with automatic transmission shifter still in "D".

I am unable to insert key into driver side door and as a result can not open the door to get in. I have to go through the passenger side, open the door to driver's side. Driver side front door lock does not turn and we are stranded as the door doesn't open. The air conditioner stopped working. I took it to a repair shop and they found a hole in the bottom of the compressor. They will have to replace the compressor, flush the system, repalce the dryer and then charge the system. The vehicle only had 62500 miles on it and the compressor should last alot longer than that. It will cost $756.24 to repair the system and that is if these are the only parts that need to be replaced. I am asking for the reimbursment to reapair the air conditioner.

On wed. Sept. 7, 2011, I was driving to work when the gas pedal on my 2003 Honda CRV got stuck. I tried to brake at the stoplight, but the car would not brake. I had to go into survival mode, tried shifting the gears, and somehow got the vehicle turned off. It scared me half to death. I was also stuck in the middle of traffic and could not pull over to the side of the road, so I had the fear that someone might hit my vehicle from behind. I immediately called aaa and had them send a police officer for safety reasons. My car was towed to my mechanic who discovered that the throttle body assembly was broken, and needed to be replaced. Besides being a safety issue, this repair cost me aprox. $1,196.53. I have to say that even though it''s been replaced, I am very leery of driving the vehicle. The mechanic and the Honda dealership, where I purchased my car originally, say that this type of malfunction should not occur. About two years or so ago, the differential went out on this car as well. It had to be repaired and Honda paid for half of that repair, after I contacted the customer service dept. This was also a part that shouldn''t have had to be repaired. I contacted Honda corporation and I was told that, "Honda would not assist me with this problem."

The air conditioner (ac) stopped working. I then took the car to my mechanic who told me that the compressor locked up and destroyed many components in the system. He quoted me about $2,000 to fix the issue. I then took the car to Honda dealer and they told the repair cost would be $3500. I live in the dallas, Texas area and we have been experiencing triple digit temperature. This is a car my wife uses. We have two little kids. Not having a working ac is a life threatening situation. I contacted Honda usa for help and they told me since the car was not under warranty there wasn't anything they can do for me. I explained to them that there was a serious design flaw with the system. They would not agree even though there are countless postings on the web about this particular issue. Honda should be forced to issue a recall for this defective system. In hot climates, not having an ac is a serious safety issue. Now, I am stuck! where am I going to get $3500 to fix this issue. This problem has made the car completely useless. I am between a rock and a hard place. Honda should not get away with this because this company is endangering the lives of so many people.

Driving at 5 mph after leaving home I heard a grinding noise. It sounded like it came from the cabin fan (the air conditioner was on). I turned off fan and noise stopped. At traffic light tried fan without the air conditioner and engine stalled. Engine did not restart until I turned off fan. Problem was identified as failure of air conditioner compressor and a frozen air conditioner clutch. Other than the noise there was no warning of failure. Car was serviced 2 months and 800 miles before incident. Idling at a stop light at the time of failure resulted in stalled engine. If car was moving there would have been a loss of control as power steering and brakes would have been affected. If failure happened at higher speed I think I would have experienced catastrophic failure of the engine or compressor clutch (and shrapnel in the engine compartment or on the road and likely loss of control). Here was no early indication or warning of component failure. Although damage was isolated to compressor, if I had reacted slower or had the speed been higher there would have been high likelihood of additional damage or injury.
