This is an intermittent problem with the gauges and instruments that first occurred about 80K miles.

Driving down the road, everything feels fine - suddenly I notice that the speedometer, tachometer, gas gauge and engine temperature gauge all stopped working - the speedometer, tach, and gas all go to 0 and the temp goes into the red zone. Car is running fine. The problem re-occurs occasionally but not predictably. I took a photo of the dash to prove it because my Honda mechanic laughed at me.

Recently, a new problem on the instrument panel - I suspect it's related to the same cause - the VSA alert light suddenly illuminated and the "brake" light is on - again, the car is running and handling fine, and the parking brake is certainly not on. Mileage 94K.

Frustrating and difficult to decide if it's worth expensive investigation on a 10 year old car.
