Vehicle stability or vsa sight and ABS light came on at the same time. Honda dealer advised me that the repair would cost me $2337 dollars to repair. I would think that a recall would be in order for this safety related and stability related problem!

After starting the car I put my foot on the brake pedal, took off the emergency brake, and put the car into drive. My foot was still on the brake, but the car took off at a high speed as if I had floored the gas pedal, and would not stop with my foot still on the brake pedal. I threw the gear into park and turned off the ignition. This same thing happened to me in September 2009 while I was driving on the long island expressway. At that time the brake would not stop the car, so I put the car in neutral and pulled off the road, put the car in park and turned off the ignition. In September 2009 I called the Honda dealer about the problem and was told not to bring the car in, that I must have had the mat jammed on top of the gas pedal. That was not the case today or in 2009. This isba deadly dangerous problem. Please investigate this and put out an alert on tv to all car owners that if their car should get stuck in acceleration mode they should put the car in neutral and turn off the ignition. Thank you.

Twice today while I was driving my CRV, I let up on the gas and the car continued to accelerate. I noticed that the engine RPM dial continued to climb up. Once I tapped the brakes the car stopped accelerating. The first time I thought maybe it was just a fluke but it did the same thing later in the day.

Left Firestone auto to get an il change on univeristy blvd after oil change, proceeded onto university blvd, made a left onto broadhead road(?), made a right into dollar bank parking lot. Pulled up to atm and atm was out of service. Drove around the building to go into the bank to get money out instead. Turned into parking spot four, pumped gas then brake....car accelerated and I pumped on brakes again and the car would not stop. I hit a pole in front of the bank, the air bag deployed. The car was smoking and smelled of burning oil and smoke. The car would not stop and appeared to accelerate on its own.

Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) [xxx] I am writing you for the accident in Sept. 12, 2009, I drove the Honda 2006 CRV SE in the local road named concord farm North bound. Before stop sign, I released the accelerator and started to brake, as usual it stopped before the stop sign, but that day it did not. At the moment I realized I could not stop the car, I was thinking to cross road, but there was no time to react I got hit by the car who traveled on the road perpendicular to my direction. This accident was considered as my mistake. Since I did not have collision insurance and the car was totaled which is the big financial loss (actual market value estimated in $20K) in my life. At the same time I suffered the burning on arm from the airbag popup and frequent noise on ears. Until today I still have issues with insurance company on medial coverage. I am the careful driver and never have had any accident caused by myself. I do not understand what really happen on the day at the time. At the beginning I blame the brake, which might be wore out since I just have tires replaced (the life time for the tires should be 6 years or over 70K miles but actually wore out in 3 years and 45K miles). But the technician never warns me for replacing brakes. After I reported my suspicious to the insurance company then there was a phone message from some one declared the brake was in good condition (I assume the phone message was from insurance company). Any way I have to admit all are my own bad luck. Recently I watched the news and learned that Toyota has recall over a lot of models for accelerator problem and I noticed that both the electronic and mechanic components used on accelerators are made by the same company cts. We knew it took Toyota about 8 years to eventually admit their design problem and I believe Honda might have the same problem as Toyota. From a customer point of view I want to know the statistics on Honda CRV accident on 2006 model.

The accelerator on my 2006 Honda CRV has gotten stuck twice in the last week while driving on the highway. I checked for floor obstructions. None were present. I finally put it in neutral and coasted to a stop, and turned off the car. When I turned it back on, it seemed to run fine. The occurrences were 2 days apart.

Driving along a 4 lane road at 25-30 mph when suddenly car accelerated out of control. Though I stomped on brakes, my car smashed into the car in front of me. The air bags did not deploy and I received severe whiplash. The car sustained more than $12,000 damage. Honda refuses to admit the car had a problem.

I had just come off the highway and turned onto a state road. I was slowing down for the upcoming intersection, when suddenly the car started speeding out of control and the brakes could not stop my car from slamming into the car in front of me. After the crash, the woman I hit pulled over to the side of the road. I put the car in drive with my foot on the brake and the car revved wildly. This was later noted by the woman I hit, as well. In desperation I turned the key off and let the car roll to the side of the road. The firemen disconnected the battery for safety. When the tow truck driver came, he reconnected the battery cables and the car started itself up and began to rev. The driver said he had never seen anything like it before. I have his name and number. The airbag never deployed and I was fortunate to only receive whiplash and my dog seems ok. The other driver has back problems but was fortunately driving a Nissan xterra that did not get nearly the damage my car received. I am just so thankful that my children were not in the car, and that there were no pedestrians or children in front of me.
