Passenger rear trailing arm broke off from body mount. Vehicle is still available for inspection. Coming to a stop sign and car came to an abrupt stop. Something had stopped the car before I even got to the stop sign. Coming down to the stop sign car began to lost steering and swayed back and forth. Car is in very good condition has 138,100 miles on it. But now it can, t be driven cant be fixed and be safe. Still books for $3200. Our family was left vulnerable to a horrible accident if going any faster when this happened. Broke down on a back road at 10:30 p.m. close to a stop sign. Had to be towed. A recall of the 2007 to 2011 CR-V. stated that this happens to those models. They didn't go back far enough on this recall and if I hadn't told people who still have the 2005- 2006 model they wouldn't have known and this could happen to them. Vehicle was inspected by insurance co. and Honda dealership and reported to Honda corp. Rust no coverage or repair for this vehicle. Mechanic looked at can't repair and make safe. Same problem as those vehicles recalled. But because it wasn't on the recall list there is nothing they can do about this vehicle. This left me, my loved ones vulnerable to a serious accident if I had been on a freeway let alone on any road going 50 and above in speed. No warnings what so ever that this could happen. No messages, no lamps no letters from Honda nothing.

The contact owns a 2005 Honda CR-V. the contact stated that the driver and passenger side low beam headlights failed to remain illuminated and were replaced four times in one year. In addition, the instrument panel lighting failed to illuminate. As a result, the contact could not view the gauges. An independent mechanic provided replacement parts for the low beam headlights and instrument panel lighting, but the failures continued. The cause of the electrical failures was unknown. The contact stated that the vehicle also exhibited tire cupping for the rear tires. The tires had been replaced every 2.5 years due to excessive treadwear on the rear tires. The contact had the tires rotated every 3,000 miles; however, the rear tire cupping continued. First team Honda (3444 western branch blvd, chesapeake, va 23321, (757) 337-6597) and williamsburg Honda (7101 richmond rd, williamsburg, va 23188, (757) 564-4671) were notified of the failures. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.

The tire was flat for no apparent reason and we pulled into a uhaul location where they filled air and apparently no air was leaking. However, we took the vehicle into costco tire center since the michelins were purchased there and they examined and said the rims were "damaged". there is no visible damage from outside but according to them, the air leaks from the inside in the rim and the tire has been flat again. We thought it is the valve but even after valve replacement, its the same issue. This has happened before but we had a valve changed then too and it worked apparently. Not sure if the rims are not accurately machined but this seems to be a prevalent problem.

Flat tire was observed. The stock steel rims and tire were examined. A crack was discovered along the seam of the rim leaking air looking at it from the axle perspective. I've had friends with similar problems with the CRV rims.

Vehicle tires losing air due to defect in seam of rim. This occurred on two of my car's tires and rims. Costco auto repair personnel advised that there is a hole in the seam (of the rim) which is causing air to leak out of the tire.
