ON SUNDAY aug 9th my wife was on her way home ,when the she noticed the steering wheel getting stiff, all of a sudden the car shut off in the middle of a major highway. She coast off the ramp ,then the brakes began getting stiff so she finally comes to a stop when suddenly a woman comes yelling out a restaurant telling her the suv is on fire .BY this time the car is filling up with smoke and ,I'M on the phone hearing her screaming and in tears .she is telling me the door will not open ,the lady comes and forces the door open. When I arrive the car is fully engulfed in flames and my wife is sitting on the curb in tears .After the fire department does a inspection they determine that it was an electrical fire due to the ignition switch .We googled to find out that we were'nt the only ones this has happened to ,and contacted HONDA .THE supervisor cris told us that we did not have a case ,and to do what we needed to do.Until someone holds Honda liable they will continue to place profit over lives.Thats why I am filing a lawsuit against this greedy co.

Ok so let me start by saying i was a huge honda fan until recently. I have a black 2006 Honda CR-V fully loaded. I bought the car used with about 10,000 miles on it. It was in good conditions and i took really good care of the car. For the record i loved this car until about 59,000 when the first problem happened. My car would start with the check engine the SRA warnings and caution lights. Shortly after bringing it to a few places like the local ZAP LUBE/repair center to get it diagnosed i realized i would have to take it into the dealership when my buddy who works at ZAP told me he couldnt figure out what was wrong with it. Went over to Honda and its always a hassle over there because noone knows what they are doing everyones slow and confused unless that is if your buying a car from them cause that departments always quick and friendly... The guy in the service department at Honda told me it could be the alternator but it will cost you 58$ for us to check. I looked at the guy with a funny face and said, "You guys want me to pay you 58$ dollars just to tell me whats wrong with my car"? He looked at me and then said," Usually we charge $90.00 to read the error code from the machine in the back". I was not in the mood to argue with the people in the service department who clearly dont care about the consumer. (Keep in mind i attend college full time.)

At exactly 60385 miles my 2006 Honda CR-V had died. I went out into the driveway to shoot over to work when my car would start it would make a loud rumbling noise and a chokeing sound. I then had to get it towed over to Honda to find out what was wrong. The engine was completely shot. I was confused shocked and upset that my engine could blow out on me at such a young milage. I was sure that Honda would cover me because of the clear faulty engine. The engine is covered up to 60,000 miles and i had 60,385. The mananger clearly seeing how fustrated i was from the situation said that Honda would cover 90% of the repairs and work. Being the only option i had i took it. Turns out the repairs on the car cost me about $1,000 out of pocket. The total repair cost was $10,130 for a new engine block. When i got my car back everything was running perfectly fine untill....

((THE PROBLEM @ 61,990 miles))

On Tuesday September, 28 2010 i went to the gym around 9p.m.. I came out at around 10:30 p.m. to grab my bag from the car. When i was trying to unlock the car i noticed that the car would not unlock. I looked into the car and saw that all the power was on and my radio was working, my dash was lit and my windshield wipers were even moving really slowely. This to me was impossible because i was holding the keys in my hand and i dont have an automatic car starter so there was no way for the power to be on unless someone attempted to steal my car by hotwireing it. That was the first thing i thought in my head. Then i tried opening the car with the key and it worked. When i opened the door i could smell a terrible electric burning smell. I immediately went inside to grab my buddy so he could help me figure out what was wrong. He too was shocked that the car was on without the keys even being in the ignition. I then turned the car on and the smell got worse so i shut it off. Suddenly i look over at my door panel and i see a small blue flame come out from my speaker holes. Quickly i got out of the car and smoke was starting to pour out from all over my door panel. Scared that the car was going to possibly blow up or burn i called 911. When the police officer arrived the smoke had died down and all that was left was a terrible smell like someone roasted a computer in my car. The officer told me the fire department would have to possibly take my door panel apart so that they could see if it was safe to drive. Then a fire truck pulls up and the crew jumps off with thermal guns to see any heat spikes inside the door panel. As they were ripping apart the door i was thinking to myself, surely Honda will fix this because my car almost caught fire with no notice. WRONG!! It turns out that the main power cable for my door had short circuted and caused a small fire burning the houseing department for my main power supply to my doors and windows. This was the explination that the manager over at the Honda dealership in Paramus gave me. He said because it could be anything that made the car short circut Honda wont cover it. I felt insulted as a customer because this is not even a month after i spent $1,000 dollars cash on a $10,000 engine project done by the same dealership, and i bought my car there. I told the guy ive never seen this and he said neither have I. I asked him what i should do about the problem and he told me that the insurance company would probably cover somthing like this. When i asked him how much it would cost for such a repair he told me that if the circut disconnects by the end of the door panel then it could be $300.00 but if the circut runs threw the entire dashboard of the car which it does in some models then it could cost up to $3000.00. That was the best answer i could get from the Honda "manager". He also seemed eager as if to rush me out of the service department. I wanted to spit in his face for the fact that noone there really cares what they are doing at that dealership. So much for the HONDA cares about its customers commercials.

Now im left with a car that smells like burning rubber, no windows or power locks and no clarity from Honda. The one thing i do know is that i smell a lawsuit. See you there Honda.

((RECOMMENDATION)) I recommend to anyone looking for a car to buy german engineering so you dont have problems with cars that are made in quantity vs. quality. I notice that hondas are really lacking quality these days.
