About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
I have complaints about the safety requirements of the head restraints on newer vehicles. I understand the physics behind the safety feature of having the head restraints tilted close to the drivers head. However, if you drive with your head already close to a head restraint that is not tilted (as found in the older vehicles 2004 and older), you will still get the same safety and the head restraint is much more comfortable and it doesn't cause pain. You need to review and amend your requirements of this safety feature, because currently, the tilted head restraints are causing more harm (and pain) than safety to us drivers who drive upright.
