My grandson went to get out of the passenger front side of car. It would not unlock. He had to climb over to the driver seat to get out. The next day I went to open the trunk and it was lock. I do a lot of picking up of my grandchildren and I'm afraid that they will get stuck in the event of an accident. What a shame to have to worry about this and the cost I will have to incur.

From August 2013, right front door started to lock by itself right after I unlock it. Several weeks later, the right rear door started to keep locking itself with very loud noise when the speed of car reaches 20~30 miles/hour. It was very annoying and I fixed the car, which cost me over $300. However, now the left rear door started to keep locking whenever the car reaches to the speed of 20~30 miles/hour.

For the last 2 years my 2007 CR-V has had issues with electric door-lock operation 1)the passenger door does not unlock. Unlocking all doors via drivers side or key fob momentarily opens the passenger lock " it then automatically locks again in 2-4 seconds. This is a safety issue as the passenger cannot get out in the event of an emergency. Door handle operation does not over-ride the lock " and the 2-4 second window electronically unlocking is difficult to synchronize handle operation in the best of circumstance. 2)in addition, all door locks continuously lock"lock?.lock when driving forward @ approximately 8-10km/hour. I am the original owner. There are many similar complaints " I see ~ 105 at safercar.gov.

In the last two weeks, suddenly the door locks won't remain open after opening with key fob. The door locks will open for a second or two, but then automatically return to the locked position. Appears to be an electro-mechanical malfunction with the electronics and locking actuators. This occurs on all doors (front and rear, including tailgate door), in all scenarios (engine running; engine not running; door open; door shut; key in ignition; key out of ignition). In addition, the door lock/unlock buttons on the door panel will not unlock manually....it's like the door lock button is stuck in the locked position. It takes a great amount of force to unlock the button, but then it automatically returns to the locked position. Have been unable to locate source of problem. This is a real safety issue!

The passenger door regularly does not remain electronically locked despite using the driver door switch and/or remote. This could pose a serious safety concern if involved in vehicular accidents since the occupants may become entrapped when the defect prevents an occupant from unlocking the doors. Furthermore, this defect jeopardizes the safety of vehicle occupants since not all doors are capable of being manually unlocked from the exterior. Instead, and with the exception of the vehicles driver door, the electronic locking mechanism is the only method available to gain access to the vehicle from the exterior - only the driver's door has a slot allowing use of a physical key. While this issue risks the safety of all occupants, the door lock defect poses an acute risk to children in the front seat since they may be unable to open the door from inside the vehicle and, due to the lack of an exterior locking mechanism, an individual on the outside may not be able to unlock these doors and gain interior access. Honda has apparently long been well aware of this issue. Despite its longstanding knowledge of this design defect, Honda has routinely refused to repair the cars without charge when the defect manifests. As a result of defendants unfair, deceptive and/or fraudulent business practices, owners and/or leasees have suffered an ascertainable loss of money and/or property and/or loss in value. The unfair and deceptive trade practices committed by Honda has caused many aggravating circumstances. Had I known about this defect, at the time of purchase, I would not have bought it, or would have paid substantially less for it. Honda's alleged actions to properly notify consumers of this issue - and to offer successful repair at no charge to consumers - has seriously harmed Honda reputation.

Passenger side door: I can unlock the passenger door with the key fob and they will re-lock themselves within 2 seconds. Few days ago I went into pharmacy and left my 8 year old niece in the car to pick up few things. Came back out in about 5-7 minutes and she was crying her eyes out yelling and screaming. I asked her what happened as I entered through the driver side door. She couldn't speak for few minutes because of tears. She told me she couldn't open the door and she got scared. Entire family is Honda and Acura loyal customers. My family had enough Honda problems with the 2011 Honda Accord brakes making squeaking noises after replacing brake pads 2 times. 2003 Acura TL transmission problem. Replacing 2007 CRV differential fluids numerous times and now a safety issue with the passenger side locks. I had enough. Good bye Honda!

At first the passenger side door to my Honda 2007 CRV unlocks by itself, even after I lock it with the remote or manually. When I slow down to 10 mpr it would unlock and lock by itself. Now, the door only locks itself, even if the door is locked, it locks again, but now a annoying squeaking loud noise. I called the dealer and the cost is $375. I am hoping no more doors will need repairs to the door actuator as 4 doors @ 375 = a lot of money. Honda needs to do a recall on this!

Failure of the door lock actuator. The rear driver's-side door continually unlocks, even despite the automatic lock feature. With small children in the back, I am unable to ensure their safety with an unlocked door while driving, or even while parked. Also, our belongings are at risk of theft because that door is constantly unlocked, even when locked by hand. Despite our efforts, the door unlocks itself immediately after we lock it.

CR-V 4-cyl

  • 105,000 miles
First issue was related to front passenger-side door lock. The lock can only be unlocked from the driver's side or with the keyless remote. Several weeks later, the rear passenger lock on the driver's side began locking and unlocking when I went above or below 10 miles per hour. My mechanic said it was probably the door actuator and that I should take it to the dealer. I have not done that to date because I viewed it as more nuisance than safety related. After reviewing some online information I realized my first assumption may be incorrect. I called Honda national to see what they had on this issue and possible remedies. I was informed that there was only a three year window for electrical issues; however, since the car is six years old, I will be financially responsible.
