problem #1

Aug 252014

CR-V EX V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 110,000 miles

The car in the last couple of months had unpredictable starting problems. Had the battery checked by at three places and came back to be all "fair". Then on 8/25/14, the car could not start and had to be towed to the dealer. At the time, even jump start did not work. The dealer told the car starter needed to be replaced. Paid over $800 for the repair. The next day the car almost did not start again, had similar symptoms like before.

The car is now back to the dealer services to be rechecked on. The problem could be ignition switch or some loose connections. Will report back.....

Update from Aug 23, 2016: Two new starters later, car still had similar starting problems. Then was told battery need to be replaced after a through check. After battery was replaced, the car has not failed to start. I believe it was the faulty battery problem, the dealership/repair center just misdiagnosed saying it was the starter.

Sorry all these events were taking place right after another at time stated previously. It's now August 2016, I just remembered to provide an update.
